Charlie has his angel wings.

I'm so sad all I can do is sit here and look at pictures of my sweet boy and remember our life together. We rescued Charlie on September 11, 2009. He had been found wandering in a huge park. He had been abandoned, abused and exposed to the elements. He was afraid of just about everything. We loved him, nursed him and gave him everything we could and in return he filled our hearts with love and opened our world up to the pure and unconditional love of a true friend. Through him we met all of you. We found a family of Sheepie lovers who really "get" us. We can't begin to explain how much we appreciate that and look forward to our "dog-cations" to gather with our Sheepie friends.

Where else would an auctioneer announce to refrain from clapping because we have a timid dog (thank you Judi and Val). Where else would a dog with a tail be such a novelty that it became part of his name. "Charlie-with-a-tail" never told us so... But we know he loved making the rounds to all of the petting hands and warm laps he found in all of you. I think we have photos of him on nearly everyone's lap that attended Sheepie shindig last spring. He never minded being the ugly stepbrother of the beautiful Mady, Gracie, Virginia, Teddy, Murphy, Sydney, Charm, and all of his other Sheepie companions.

He was always the human welcoming committee at the dog park, much preferring to hang out under an extended hand than run with the dogs. He was the fun police, whenever people laughed too loud or clapped or made any noise that resembled a squeal. We could never tell if he was looking at us or the person in the other side of the room with when his lazy eye wandered. He was the clowniest, sweetest, gentlest, most deep loving animal I've ever met. He was my first, and I will never forget how he rescued me... So much more than I rescued him.

I held him while he crossed. I felt his heartbeat slow and weaken until he was no longer in pain. I know we did our best for him but as his pain subsided mine began.

I love you, my sweet Charlie Boy. Until we meet again.

What a nice memorial you have written for Charlie.
What a tremendous loss. I am so sorry to hear this. I was hoping he would pull through.
Charlie was such a loving sheepie. All of my memories of him include him sidling up to people looking for pets. And if they were at all a little bit inviting, Charlie would hop up and make himself at home on their lap, not wanting anything more than a cuddle and a pet.
What a wonderful, big boy he was.
Sheepiepalooza and Sheepie Shindig will never be the same without him.

Run fast and free at the Bridge big boy. We will all miss you.
I am so sorry for your loss.

You were his angel when you rescued him in 2009...NOW ...he will be YOUR angel for eternity.

NO sheepie gathering will ever be the same without OUR Charlie.

I am crying with you and for you, for I know the deep, genuine sadness you are feeling.

I wish we could love them UNconditionally and then, when the time comes, let them go with no remorse, no sadness, for in our heads we know it is for THEIR best, not ours.

But, even though it is one of the most unselfish acts of kindness, we suffer weeks, months and years missing our 'soul-mate'.

There is no answer, but, know, that, here on the forum, you are not alone. We also lost a very precious sheepie too!!!

And, maybe, in some small way, it will comfort you to know that he will be remembered by many people who met your sweet boy.

God speed Charlie with a tail...there are many, many of your sheepie friends waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge...Run fast and free, for you are in the midst of love and white light and please don't worry about mommy and daddy, we will take care of them for you.

Thank you, friends. It is comforting to know you all cared about our boy too. And Val, our hearts broke a few short weeks ago for you. We loved your beautiful girl too. Thank you all so much for understanding and being here for us. I knew it would be hard… it hurts so bad.
I am so sorry about Charlie. Please know we share your sadness.
So many sheepie angels.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.

Wishing you a peaceful heart and happy memories. :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

Sorry for your loss but what a wonderful account of the years you did have together.
Ir am so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Charlie with-a-tail. Your tribute to him was so beautiful. I really do feel your pain, since I've had the misfortune, recently, of losing my Violet. Stength to you in your grief.
I am so sorry for your loss, he was well loved.

I'm so sorry Charlie is gone but my heart is happy again seeing the Pictures of Charlie the lap dog, sucking up every snuggle he could garner. What a happy ending to his life. That's why we rescue. Thank you for giving him a great time.

Brandon and Shel I am so sorry for the loss of Charlie. He certainly was our special boy and I can only imagine how hard this is for you.

You know it is so sad with all of these Sheepies crossing over so suddenly. It makes me wonder if they are not all having their own gathering over the Rainbow Bridge. I imagine Heart all blinged out, while Violet looks in the mirror as they get ready for the gathering. Charlie will be wagging his tail in anticipation. I suspect Bob the Wonder Pony is there in the field waiting for them all to come out and play together. Because while we are all sad that they are gone I imagine that they are in a wonderful place that only such special Sheepies and their friends go.

Take care.
I am so sorry for your loss. We are losing so many wonderful Sheepies and of course a horse. It is so sad to lose our best friends.

So sorry to hear this awful news about Charlie. He was such a sweet boy whose bushy tail made him stand out in a 'Palooza full of gray & white shaggies. We will all miss him terribly.
Run free with all your friends sweet Charlie-with-a-tail
:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Our hearts go out to you. We have lost too many of "us" lately :hearts:

I will always remember Charlie being the gentle guy amidst all the rumpus and frolic. He was such a gentleman and never met a stranger. You just knew that he always had a snuggle to give if you came looking and sometimes when you didn't

We are so very sorry to hear of his passing. Big hugs to Ted too :ghug:
we're so sorry to hear this; he'll be sorely missed. :(

Brandon and Shel my heart aches for you. I'm so sorry for your loss of sweet Charlie boy. R.I.P. Sweet Charlie.

I'm so sorry to hear about Charlie. It seems like when one of our sheepies leaves, we all feel a loss. They are all so special. :hearts: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
So very sorry about your Charlie. For those who have lost one of our babies, we feel the pain once again of loss and the tears flow along with you. We understand the pain in your heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to your lovely boy.
I am so sorry, too many sheepies have crossed over...hugs xx
Shel--what a beautiful tribute to Charlie "with a tail". He was such a gentle, sweet, loving boy and he stole my heart at the very first Sheepiepalooza that we attended together. He truly was the picture of a gentle giant. David and I are so very sorry for your loss. Since 2009 he knew only love and happiness with you and Brandon. He will be missed.

Judi painted the perfect picture with her words, somehow it seems that she may be right. Because of our sheepie gatherings, they have friends waiting for them at the bridge.

Hugs to you and Brandon.
Thanks, friends. We are closing in on our second week without our boy. We miss him terribly but are finding comfort knowing he was loved by so many. He was such a quirky guy that we often find ourselves remembering little things and just laughing. Ted is a bit lost. He sits out on the back deck like he is waiting for Charlie to catch up to him and come inside. It is sad to see him so depressed. Brandon is already getting puppy fever. He keeps saying he is a two Sheepie man... I think ted and I need more time. Just thought I'd check in. Thanks for your kindness!
