Teddy at Agility Trial Jan. 11th & 12th, 2014

Here is the video of our agility runs this past weekend in Novice Standard and Jumpers with Weaves. Didn't get any Q's but we sure had fun. Saturday, the 11th was Teddy's birthday and he pretty much did what he wanted that day. 8O The most important thing is we had fun! We are entered in a trial again this weekend at the same place. This is where we train so it's nice and close to me, about a 30 minute drive. I've also entered another trial here the weekend of Feb. 8th & 9th. I only have 2 weekends off a month so I've been lucky these trials are falling on my off weekends. There is actually another one at the end of the month but I'm working that weekend.

Hopefully, we will do better this weekend. We came so close to a Q on sunday in JWW. No bars down but the wrong course at the beginning which was my fault of course. I was to far away from the jump and he came near me instead of going over the jump to the tunnel. I believe you are allowed 1 wrong course in Standard but not Jumpers.

There were so many people that wanted to visit with Teddy and were cheering us on. Even the judge at the end of the trial wanted to go over him to see how much dog was really under all that hair. :D OES are a rarity in the agility ring around here I guess. Dawn, you need to enter a trial down here with Chewie and show them that OES can make it far in agility. We are just starting out and the way it's going it's going to be awhile!.....lol

Enjoy!
Cindy

He is so darn cute.

He's like Monty doing his own thing now and again  Teddy's doing good and really enjoying it.

Wish you were near me so I could hire you to groom Monty before he does his agility trials :D . I will start agility trials with Monty in May, work clashes with the other weekends before then.
Teddy would get a little confused, but he was adorable. I loved watching his excitement at the beginning "ready, set, go" Teddy is a doll.
First Video...LOVED his CHUTE !!!! I thought he got lost....

ALL the Videos....He is doing gReat on his weaves!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Last Video...A JUMPING Jack!!!! He does love those jumps and he does a grat job at clearing 'em...

Cindy...I am just a spectator when it comes to agility...but I loved watching Teddy!!!! He has a joy when he is in the ring..and that, is all that matters!!!!

I can see him titling...fast and furious!!!! Good luck and keep those videos coming!!!!!

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Weaves are just not as much fun as jumping!! He loves to fly or scoot thru the open tunnels. He's having a great time. Coming right along, he wants to do this and in time will get it all together....he's so close!

I'm seeing something at the weaves, maybe Dawn will catch it as well, you seem to be stepping out after the first pole and he's following. Do you need to move forward, lead him down the poles??

I suspect there's a lot of Teddy under that fluff, he's just too athletic.
Weave entries are hard, I noticed that even masters don't always get weave entries correct first time, once he is in, he knows what to do. Teddy coming out of the chute is too cute lol :hearts:
Yes, a lot of the excellent dogs even have trouble collecting before the weaves. He was a bad boy that first time in the chute. He was peeing! Boys, sheesh....

Well that explains the timid exit! Oh Teddy
I love Teddy!! While not always the "best" he is always the most entertaining. At least in my book :high5: :high5:I love the goofballs. You can tell he is smart but just doesn't feel like doing what you say 8)
LOL he knew he wasn't allowed to do it in the ring so he did it when he was hidden, how clever.
Love the videos and as I told you before your handling skills are very impressive. You and Teddy are going to be a fantastic team.

I had to laugh, because when I went to my agility trial here in St. Louis today I realized that my judge was probably your judge. I asked Lisa if she was in Chicago last weekend. She immediately knew what I was going to ask her because she brought up Teddy right away and what a nice dog he was. She did mention the tunnel pee too and I said yes I caught that on the video. But I thought it was great that she liked his skills.

Harry didn't do much to impress her today as he launched himself off the dog walk a full 12" before the yellow contact area first thing this morning. Does he think I am telling him "paws" just to hear myself talk? Needless to say Harry started out his 2014 agility year with me making him do the "walk of shame" after just the second obstacle. We had just addressed this at class two nights ago but I guess he figured hitting his contacts were optional. He wasn't too happy about being walked off so hopefully he will get his contacts tomorrow.

With us being fairly close in proximity we can do some mid-way trials together in the future.
Thanks Judi, glad to hear the judge thought he had some skills. Yes, that would be fun to go to a trial together once the winter weather breaks. I usually don't enter things to far from home in the winter because of the snow.

Oh Harry, he does like to test the rules. Hopefully he learned his lesson today and will get his contacts tomorrow. Good luck tomorrow. We go to our trial again tomorrow and Sunday also.

Cindy
Walk of Shame, great way to "punish"......stop the game. Harry just loves the game and thinks he can make up new rules......plus it's fun to fly.

Imagine the judge doesn't see too many OES so they are memorable.....especially Teddy PeePee
Loved watching the videos Cindy! We are just getting started so I love watch all of your all's videos--keep them coming :).

Teddy looks like he is having fun!!
