not doing the Christmas thing

This year the wife and I decided we'd give the family Christmas traditions and gluttony a miss.

So we are spending the week with Archie in an apartment on the Fistral Headland in Newquay Cornwall.

It's very windy and will be a wet week ahead currently Archie has his head stuck through the vertical blinds doing his low quiet gruff at the golfers on the golf course we over look, maybe he thinks they are in his garden?

It's quite funny and we wonder how he'll react to the ocean crashing in later?

He was darting about like a mad thing in the wind and dark last night.

It was his first long trip in a while too! 3 hours of no fuss what so ever in the car.

:tree: It sounds like Archie is in for some great stimulation. :santa: lol Your Christmas get away sounds like a great thing, off the golf course and not far from the ocean. I hope all of you have a Happy and restful Christmas and New Year! :tree:
Good boy, Archie. He knows that Santa is watching.

Your retreat sounds like it will be a serene and interesting holiday. Any amount of time spent near the water makes for a wonderful day IMHO 8)

Wishing you a blessed Christmas :tree:
Sounds wonderful! Have a great time!
Awwww...Archie is having his own special Christmas...Have a great intimate holiday..just the 3 of you!!

Yeah, the Christmas "thing" wears thin after a few decades. We ratchet it down more and more each year. Golf course and ocean sound bizarre and delightful!
Somewhat blowy and wet here today a short dash out in the stormy Atlantic weather Archie's poo's blew off before touching the ground then the chase ensued with bag flapping in hand and me clutching my hat and this was all during a lull! Archie is currently chewing his bone whilst watching the rain bash against the windows.

Certainly keeping a weather eye open.

Archie liked the beach at first but I think the coarse salty sand is irritating his pads.

Looks like our weathermen were correct!
Don't believe I've ever seen wind blown pooh. That's quite a wind! Yeah, the salt might be a problem. In the future boots for his paws might be in order. Not something you would have thought to pack unless you had encountered it before. Stay inside, be cozy and warm. Hopefully the weather will change.
I think some photos are in order! I doubt I will ever see Cornwall in person - from books it sounds very interesting.
Yeah, Doc Martin is only shot in the warmer months.......but the countryside and villages are lovely. Imagine all together different in winter.
Yes where are the pics unless thy camera got blown away :). I am surprised that water boy was not in that sea
