Get out the snowboots!

Stay safe and warm.

And before you say anything, yes, I know the math is wrong.
^^^^^
That's right!,
There was a time such amounts would be greeted with cheers......once I dug my MGB out from under and headed for the ski area up the road.

I don't know if I've mentioned before I met my future DH when I and another gal and a slightly inebriated gentlemen gave diving demonstrations off second and third floor balconies into the very deep snow below. No, the gentleman as not my future husband..........he was standing back watching and thinking, " :cow: I'd better marry her before she kills herself."

So enjoy the snow, it's OK to drink coffee while driving but don't text too!
Make some good soup and stay warm!!

You could send a few flakes my way--I would love it!
Areas just north of Syracuse received somewhere between 2-4 feet over the last 2-3 days.
Nothing we can't handle.

Snowmobilers are in heaven now.
OMG Susan. lol

I really don't miss the snow, but if you live in it you have to figure out ways to enjoy it. Other ways than Susan did, of course. Stay safe.
We got some snow, but way too much really cold weather. Thankfully it's passed on and we are back to the more normal 5 to 10F days....that's the high too!
North Redfield, NY (Oswego County) officially received 6 feet of snow in 3 days.

And now were getting 6-10 inches more tonight.

Dawn,
you guys do certainly get colder & windier.
6 feet at a crack is way too much! The snow blowers must have been working nonstop. Think of the drifts! That lake effect snow is awesome.
The folks that live up in Oswego, Lewis, Jefferson, and Herkimer counties love this stuff.
Lotsa snowmobile trails in New York State. Lotsa snowmobilers. Snow = money.
Did you say 6 feet 8O Holy Moley! I like the snow but 6 feet????? How do the dogs go out to poop 8O
That town got more since I last posted.
Between Tuesday of last week and yesterday, they have received 92 inches of snow. That's 7 and 2/3 feet of snow. In one week.
Will be interesting to see how much melts this weekend. Probably not all 7.5 feet and that far north maybe the big heat coming won't be that significant, but Pennsylvania and areas should be melted.

When do the lakes freeze enough to stop the water fetch for lake effect snows?
Typically, by the beginning of January to mid-January, the lakes freeze over enough to lessen the impact of lake effect.
But they never freeze over completely.
And since some years are warmer than others, they might never freeze.

We have a little warm-up coming. High 30s tomorrow & Saturday, mid-40s on Friday & Sunday.
We'll get some reduction in our snow pack, but it won't go completely away.
