Guess who killed another mole last night.

So just before bed last night, I put Brick out for a final potty.
A few minutes later, I go to bring him back in and I find him kind of gagging, kind of pawing at his face. Wondering what he has in his mouth this time, I go up to him, open his mouth, and gently shake it a little bit to see what falls out (often times, something he shouldn't have does).
He then begins to wretch so I let him go and I'm thinking he's going to puke. I figure he's been eating grass like he sometimes likes to do for some reason.

He stops wretching after a few seconds but I never find any vomit and he seems OK. So off to bed we go.

So just a few minutes ago, I had Zeke outside and I see a lump of something over by where Brick was acting funny last night. At first it looks like a pile of leaves. That is, until I got up close.

Yup. Another mole.

It looks like Brick did what he was bred for. Catching and killing vermin.
He did this last fall and again now. I wonder how many I don't know about.

I'm wondering if he ate it, or at least tried to eat it but couldn't, and then puked/hacked it back up.

Anyways, I threw the carcass under the arbor vitaes behind the neighbor's garage. The dogs won't be able to get over there.

Indeed that's what they were bred to do, good boy.........except for the eating and hacking part.
