Electronic Cigarettes

I have been using an e cigarette for about three months now and love it. Tried 7 different ones and love the one I am using. Have no desire to smoke a real tobacco, tar poison smelly real cigarette. And I am now down to the lowest level of nicotine offerred. I am using Green Smoke. I feel like I am still smoking but I'm not.

Anyone who smokes, try these. They are the best!

I quit smoking about 4 years ago but not a day goes by that I don't wish I still smoked. I've thought of trying the ecigs, but then realized that it would a slippery slope FOR ME. I know I'd end up back on regular cigs. But I think they are a great aid in quitting regular cigs.

Have you smoked them in public places? If so, did you experience any anti-smoking hysteria?
My daughter has given up smoking using the same type of cig as you. She'll be hitting her 3 month mark on the 2nd of Nov, She says she's not had any problems so far. I am so happy for her health, which isn't that great in the first place. I'm also so grateful not smelling the cig smoke everytime I go out on the back patio. She wasn't allowed to smoke in the house.

Congrats on your progress. Paula my Dad smoked for many years and after he stopped smoking, cold turkey, he said for the rest of his life, which was about 30 yrs after giving them up, that he still missed them and would dream of smoking when he was sleeping. Just remember to don't stop quiting
Being a social smoker for several years, I tried the e-cigarette a few years ago. They were a novelty for me as well as a deterrent for the real thing.

But, I gave it up last year as the lip lines became more evident :( Getting old is not pretty
I tried about 7 different brands before I found the one I am using now and like best. green Smoke. Only three ingredients. I just knocked down to a lower level of nicotine and have two more to go before I am nicotine free. So far so good and in fact, gave away all my lighters saying I don't need these anymore!

I have smoked it - or "vaped" as they call it in some public places but just to show someone what it is. People are still a bit uncomfortable with seeing you use it so I try and respect their concerns and don't smoke it. At work they are still not allowed but I have a private office and have to admit when I am in there, I use it. Its my own office and not shared so no one really knows. And of course it doesn't smell or create smoke to set off any detectors. I was at a Bar pub type restaurant and I know the owner and asked him if I can "vape" in here and he just laughed. But I put it away. Its been so long since I was allowed to smoke any place I don't mind waiting until I leave to do so now - even if it is just vapor.

All in all I am extremely satisfied with it and recommend it to any smoker out there looking to rid their lungs of smoke and toxins and tar and tobacco. Plus I am saving some money!
Good for you! Anything you can do to quit smoking is worth it. And quitting at any time has enormous health benefits, no matter how long you have smoked. If e-cigs work for you, that's awesome. I don't know why anyone would object to you "vaping". Is there such a thing as "second- hand vape"? :D

Laurie and Oscar
Laurie, cigarette smoking is such a hot button for people that they will react before realizing what the person is smoking is an e-cig. In other words, they'll make a scene without having the facts.
My mum gave up at sixty. One day she went to the doctors and ask for some help and 5 years later not one fag
Is a "fag" a cigarette in the UK? Never heard that expression.
Yes people call fags cigarettes in the uk
Sheepiezone, Karen, introduced me to the e-cig at Nationals...

I am now waiting for my starter kit.

Karen actually gave me 2 of hers to use until I get mine.

I have to call her , when everything arrives for her to walk me through getting it all set up.

She is such a sweetie!!!! I can't wait!!!! (Neither can Dino!!).

:ghug:
Yes--It has now been 5 months and 2 days! I slip occasionally but for the most part smoke-free!

I had tried everything there was to try --patches, pills, gum, hypnosis and cold turkey was not an option--

This worked! :clappurple: :clappurple: :cheer:  I haven't tried to drop the nicotine level yet, but will at some point. I will vape rather than smoke forever if that is what it takes to stay off cigs!

I will share this with anyone who is open to it, because it worked so well for me--I am cheering for you Val and you can call me whenever you need to! I found there was a learning curve and like Ashley I tried several things (and wasted some money) before I found what worked for me.

And a tip for those 'lines' around the mouth for smokers and many non-smokers as well...

Get a really good 'eye cream or gel' and use it twice a day around your mouth---it works!!
Yay!! Six months and counting!! I am patting myself on the back!! :clappurple: :clappurple:
:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Keep up the good work Karen.
