Is this my dog?

Hi all

Maggie was shaved down today as you know, we lost the battle to heat and humidity but I was not expecting to pick her up from the groomers and drive home feeling like I was driving home with someone elses dog. She looks like a boy and she does not look like my dog at all.

Has anyone else ever felt this way after their first big hair cut???

They do look completely different...
I swore Pepsi wasn't Pepsi until I saw his doing his usual stuff.
My other two dogs couldn't figure out who he was and attacked him.. What mean brothers!!!
You'll get used to the look and before you know it her hair will be back :P

Elissa
LOL, I can't wait to see pics!!! LOL
I had that feeling when Hendrix had his face trimmed, I couldn't believe it. It must have been more shocking for you with his whole body cut short!
They do look weird  After a few days you'll get used to the shock of it.
I cried after Henry's first total shave down, he looked like he had just come from a concentration camp. He was about 1 year old and was still really skinny from rescue and being on his own--also just at that gangly teenager stage. Don't worry her hair will grow out fast.
:x After Rufie's first major buzz cut... someone had the nerve to ask me if he was a poodle! He really did look silly, but he was all "sheepie" on the inside!
every time Lennon and Sofa get shaved I'm in shock... Those are not my dogs! It takes me a few days to be able to tell one from another just by looking :? But now I'm beginning to be a bigger fan of the summer cut.... No dust bunnies!!!!
Oh Yes, first time I had that done I took the groomer's word that the grey greyhound was my Maudie. Then she showed me the "fleece" that came off her..........

Now that we shave them down ourselves, we see the transformation. Plus MO loves her "slicks." She gets extra "rubbies" which is also a plus.

Now the shocker may be if we shave down one of our Pyrs! She was abused for 5 years, came back to us having not been brushed for 5 years! I've tried, really tried to get her brushed out, but it's not happening. Yesterday I tried shaving out her rear end for sanitary reasons......it was like felt as far as I went. I shudder to think what she would look like shaved.
I understand completely! Gucci just had his "buzz cut" on Thursday. I would also like to add that he is soooooooooo hyper! He reminds me of a little gazelle! It always is a shock though! The saddest part is that we go to Petsmart and I can hardly get him in the door and he's surrounded by people! He's very popular! But after his hair cut, no one came up to us! :( Thankfully I was the only one that noticed! Gucci was oblivious!

It sure is nice to go for our walks and not find surprizes in the fur anymore, you know burrs etc!

Happy Summer!

Colleen and Gucci=> I like being naked!
It was very hard the first time, they look sooo different!!
Is soon as I picked her up, I was in totally shock, it did even look like my dog, looked like an grayhound. But now i shave her 2 times a year, it sure makes there coat look allot heathier!! It does grow back fast, mostly in the face..
Tsk,tsk...you all have no idea what it is like living in Florida and the matting problem  !
