I'm gonna be in BIG trouble!!!

My parents are in Vegas for the week and I've been going up in the evenings to care for their cat. I took Fred tonight and put her in a gated-off area while I did a few things... little did I know she had moved the gate enough to reach the carpet edge and..
PULLED UP A 6 INCH STRIP OF CARPET!!!! 8O 8O 8O
Its right in the middle of the entry way between the foyer and great room.... I feel soooo bad!!!!!!

I have until Monday night to think of a good way to break the news... wish me luck! :|

Better is to call a carpet place and have it fixed before they come home.
Those guys can work wonders with the tape and iron.
Pfffft! That's easy! You have a built-in excuse:

"The cat did it"

8)
Oh no :(
And I hope she didn't ingest any of the carpet either. Carpet can do big damage as it goes through. I personally know a couple dogs who have died from it, and that is so much worse than trying to explain to your parents what happened to their carpet. :(
Well. The cat is declawed so that excuse won't work. And it doesn't appear that she ate any. It was all tiny strings and seem to be all accounted for.
Just curious, was it Berber carpeting? Always seemed to be a perfect toy for our animals. I agree with Dave, call the carpet store, they do re"whatever" with small sections, 6" may be beyond them but it is worth a call. They may also have ideas. IF a section can be "matched" as best as possible, you can put in a patch.

In the mean time, Fred says she is sorry but don't leave her unattended again. She wants all your attention.
