Gobblins on the Ceiling

It's going to be a long, long winter.......or else we will be eating on paper and plastic. Kensie's obsession with reflections onto the ceiling is rather extreme. The kitchen lights cause reflections off metal or glass cookware, utensils, etc. onto the ceiling during cooking and dish washing. Any reflection sends her into hyper drive. I can cook most of the meal before sunset thus not requiring artificial light......for now. But clean up is another story. I've tried different combinations of lights on and off but haven't found the perfect solution........candles?? Cast iron cookware, paper cups and plastic dinnerware?? Then again I may have to leave the clean up to DH and bring Miss Crazy to the far end of the house......... :lmt:

I'm grateful she is taking such good care of me......

Wow Susan, this is a new one. It will be interesting to see what solution works.
I would definitely vote for leaving the cleaning to DH and taking Kensie to another part of the house 8) 8)

These pups can be so odd sometimes :lmt:
Wonder if they played games with her? Chewie goes nuts for a laser light. We had another dog that would chase reflections, but not that severe. We could make the "dots" with our watch faces indoors from the sun reflections and play games. Maybe they did this with Kenzie and she really loved it and got obsessed?
Doing this on purpose might be the ticket to her exercise plan.... :lmt:
Yep, Dawn, I suspect that's what happened. We first discovered it with watch face reflections and thought it amusing. Now the sudden high pitch bark when you least expect is isn't quite as cute. I thank her remaining aware at all times and saving us. I've searched high and low for my laser lights and can't be found to see if it is any light on the wall or just reflections. Do I really want to get her started?

Maybe this will transfer outside at night with a strong flash light beam and she'd have more room to run instead of trying to climb the counters.

It might work. Outside would be nice!
Chewie does only the laser lights. No reflections or anything.
Very interesting! Haven't experienced that with any of the dogs--but have with the kitties. We have one that we have to put in the bedroom if there is a lot of action in the kitchen--he goes nuts trying to chase the reflections. He also loves the chase the laser game and will play for hours.

Will be interesting to see how she does outside with the laser.
First night: she's here with me, very unhappy but there are few dishes tonight, DH will handle them.
My son's rescue dog loves the laser. And she has discovered that when I get ready for work, there are lots of reflections on the bathroom ceiling. She has a very shrill bark that isn't pleasant at 6 AM.
Any way you can put some lamps without shades in the kitchen while you work on meals?
