The Raw Food Success -- For Fozzie!

Hello! For those of you who have known me for years, you probably recall that we've had a heck of a time with Fozzie's stomach for his 7 years of life. For several years, we didn't have diarrhea due to Nutro grain free turkey kibble; however, they went and added peas to their formula just like every single kibble except for Great Life. We had been trying Great Life Dr E's Limited Ingredient buffalo and then had semi-success with Great Life Duck; however, poops still runny at the end. Have been trying various concoctions with rice and green beans. Even tried cooking for him with boiled turkey tenderloin and rice. Was going to try quinoia, but got so fed up and after speaking with Jeri Hoppe, decided to go with raw patties.

We have now weaned Foz on a little bit of the duck kibble and 1 Stella and Chewie Duck Duck Goose raw patties twice a day. HIS POOP IS NORMAL!!! While this is costing us more $ than just kibble, we have bitten the bullet rather than and being angry/frustrated wiping his butt. We had been fighting doing this for years and exhausted all other options first.

Seriously if anyone has questions, please let me know. I'm curious to see how this might help his allergies as well. We spend $90 a month on oral cyclosporine suspension for the insessant food licking and itching. This med does work wonders, but maybe we can at least cut back once the winter comes.

I feed raw. Been doing it for Langley the moment he game home. Laika I started around 8 months after a battle with the runs. She hasn't had them since. He occasionally will have a softer poo but overall very consistent. Do you feed bone? I see you say patties does it have bone in it? Is this prepackaged? You can go cheaper by find a local butcher or meat market. By bone I don't mean those femur bones (weight bearing) those will break dogs teeth. I mean ribs and neck ect.

You will find so much more benefits no ear infections, no itch dry skin, super healthy. You should have to worry about fleas or ticks as much either. Raw fed dogs usually don't have those problems.
Such good news for Fozzie!! :cheer: :cheer:

I've looked at those patties for use when traveling and they can be quite pricy, but if they help his health and ease your stress it is definitely worth it. Less stress means better health for you too. :D

Izzie and Tay are both still eating a raw diet, and it has worked out really well for us.
