Valerie lives in Boulder but in the city..........unless she moved. She should have been safe. Ali was down river from Boulder but has moved to NM.......Ruidoso.......where they have been getting a lot of rain as well. (they really needed it, their reservoir was dry)

Flooding has a common thread in Colorado history, before it was miners getting washing off the hills, now it is homeowners. A lot of people live in the mountains along the Front Range, in narrow canyons with narrow roads, etc.

Locally tonight the Santa Clara pueblo is in trouble again. They lost their water shed 2 years ago in the Los Conchas fire so all the water doesn't stay in the mountains but barrels down the stream. They've had frequent flooding for the last 2 years and tonight looks like they are again. We had our largest rain of the last 5 days last night. The Rio Grande flooded as it came through Albuquerque Saturday a.m. but it is well protected by levees. Noticed they opened up all the irrigation canals to siphon water from river as it passed thru town, but they didn't let us turn it into our fields, probably too much litter and trash in the water. Should start to dry out in Colorado and here next few days.
Yes -- it all looks very bad. Prayers and thoughts for all those that live in that area and are dealing with it.

I saw a touching piece on the news this morning about a man who is rescuing the horses and cows that he can reach. I always worry about the animals too, as well as the people.
Anybody remember ?? who lived in Evergreen? They aren't flooding big time but some damage in the area. We have someone in Wellington, CO which has had some water issues. Last night the area got another inch or so, but hopefully nothing today.

Boulder fighting backed up sewers....so those who escaped flooding might be having other issues. They are being asked be careful with water down the drains........other communities are on a "no flush" order which includes no water down the drains, period.

Zoo outside Ft. C was flooded, no word on the animals.
Thank you for the update Susan.
I worry about all the animals too. I did see that news report about the man helping to rescue all the animals. he said he has no children and to him, the animals are his children. Very touching and very courageous. God Bless him! :hearts:

Any update on the zoo animals?
       yeah, I've been worried about the zoo too so Googled it............and it's an animal-less zoo!! It's all metal anmal sculptures, Sweltsville Zoo or something like that. So I imagine the lasting damage might be rust!

But on that note, I did see a video about a zoo in NE Colorado.......Keensburg?? that takes in tigers, lions, bears, etc and has them living in natural settings. The vid showed how the pond in the tiger area has grown due to the rains and explained this time of year the pond is much lower, usually. Since tigers like water, apparently they are happy with the wet.

Locally article in paper today about the roofing contractors have months worth of work, up to Christmas. Plenty of flat roof homes here (no comment) and all eventually leak.

Shon and OBE are in Evergreen, I do believe.

Val has been OK in Boulder.
