Old English Squirrel Dog

We have a squirrel living in the elm tree next to our outdoor kitchen. He drinks out of the pool every night on his way to bed. Win saw him last night and was so excited to get him to him he almost drowned himself ducking under Dexter to get out of the pool.

He came back tonight and the obsession is still there. You can see him shaking the branches right above Win. It wasn't a sheep so Dex disregarded it!

All I have to say is Squirrel, or lately Rabbit, and both dogs go racing out the door. Will NEVER forget the day that Simon brought a dead squirrel in the house.

Here we have two Old English Squirrel/Rabbit dogs.
Monty does just that
Good watch dog! At least re: squirrels.
Teddy doesn't care, squirrel, rabbit, bird, whatever. If it moves he's on it!
He sure does have an eye out for it. lol Yesterday morning, I had a green frog in the house, the type that clings to the windows. I tried to catch it with a box so I could put it back outside, and it went hippity hopping by China, while she was under the piano, China did nothing. She didn't even try to scare it back my way. The frog got away...
Love that Sheepie bark :)

We have an Old English Squirrel dog here also- he gets tormented by the squirrels who will drop things on his head when he is sleeping on the patio under our giant oak trees. They will also chatter very loudly and run through the trees and along the fence *just* out of reach. Leonard and Ru get quite distressed by that but have so far not caught any wildlife that we know about.
Haven't seen Rocky lately but could have been done in by other dogs, roadway or coyotes. How he'd torment Harry, but then Harry doesn't care anymore. Fluffy the feral cat doesn't even get a rise from him. No knowledge about Kensie as she is still in lock-down.....no excitement.
Charm is a fearless squirrel chaser. She has saved me many times
Winston looks out the window toward the area he sees the squirrel a dozen times a day. When he goes out he goes straight to where the squirrel drinks to see if he can get his scent then to the tree he usually runs up.

When the squirrel is there he lays out on a limb about 6' off the ground. If Winston doesn't see him he shakes the branch! When he gets his attention he just bounces around until he gets bored which is several minutes. Winston is wound up for a hour; the squirrel's job is done for the day.

I don't know that Winston knows what he will do if he catches the squirrel. From how he was with the baby bird and baby squirrel I don't think he would kill it unless the squirrel bit which he surely would.
Gives your guy a "job" and the squirrel some entertainment.
