September 22 SheepieFest! 2013--Northern Illinois

I believe this is the 8th SheepieFest!

Sunday, September 22 at Best Friends. 22096 N. Pet Lane, Prairie Lane, IL 60069. That's basically Buffalo Grove, off Aptakisic Road just west of Milwaukee Ave.

Time? We have the place from 9am until 4pm. I will not be there at 9. I'm suggesting 11 am til 3pm.

Stuff to do: Play with the dogs. Eat. Silent auction (I have some kick@ss stuff for the auction). Talk to friends you see only once a year.

Everyone is invited. It does not matter if you don't have a sheepie. You don't even need a dog.

As usual, everyone brings food to share.

Let's get the party started! :go: :wag:  :yay: :excited: :cheer: :clappurple: :rimshot:

Auntie Paula! This is the 9th annual SheepieFest!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!
Hey, we need more people to attend than just me and Debcram!

I will bring either a) 2 3 foot subs from Subway (one turkey and one veggie) or b) sandwich fixins. I'm thinking subs from Subway is easier.
We'll be there!!

Bringing something sweet and something else to be determined at a later time :D
I would love to come, but we will be in NC visiting a college with our oldest son. :twitch:
I could bring chips, salsa, snack stuff like that or pop and water. Whatever you guys decide, let me know!

Cindy
Cindy, we'll fill in the holes as we get closer. Any consumable is welcome!

Stacy, do you still have the plates, etc? Amanda and Melissa, do you have the silent auction sheets?

Yes, we'll bring the sheets, pens and some tape.
Debcram and I had lunch over the weekend to discuss SheepieFest!9. I cannot believe this is the 9th. We want this to be the best yet so I will be constantly bumping this to the top.

As far as auction items go, items are not limited to sheepie or even dog stuff. I have a few items from my mother, including a gorgeous Gorham crystal relish tray. I already have one so there is no point in me keeping this. I hope someone gives it a good home. I also have a 1930s matted cigarette card of an OES that I bought in London at the Portobello Road market. Cigarette cards were on packs of cigarettes in the 30s and 40s and featured animals, plants, fish, etc. Highly collectible. I think this will start a bidding war! Auction proceeds will go to Midwest OES Rescue.
IT's really an excuse to eat onion treats and drink beer...........having a sheepdog along only adds to the enjoyment. Heft one for me!!
I'll be there! I'll bring a special treat for the pups and a silent auction item.
Sounds like FUN!!
I'm really excited about it too!!!! Not sure what I'm bringing for the pot luck, but I promise it will be good! I'd sort of like to humble myself and ask our creative/artistic friends on the board, if you would mind donating a small piece of your work. I think that is always really special. And especially touching if you donate, knowing you can't make it, but want to contribute. Please let your Illinois and Wisconsin sheepie friends who are not on this board know about SheepieFest. I'm hoping this will be the biggest and best ever!!!!!!
Just a reminder. Less than 4 weeks away! Please post if you will attend. So far it's me, Debcram and Cindy.
Of course I'll be attending! I'll confirm the space this week. Cannot wait!!

Don't forget Amanda and Melissa are coming also. Check the posts above.

Cindy
OK, so now we are 7: me, Debcram, Cindy, Stacy, Melissa, Amanda, and Heather. We'll be doing lots of eating and buying!
We also have a new friend, Erin Johnson Schlueter , joining us. Paula, we have our regulars who show up, even though we don't hear from them throughout the year.

I also think Kathy McBride and Nita may join us.

We have to have a sign in sheet, so we can stay in touch after SheepieFest!

:wag:
I also know of a friend in Chicago that is coming that is on here of Facebook. Janet and her girl BeBe. Another friend Sandy (MomPoorman) might be coming with her boy Nelson. I'll send them both the reminder post.

Cindy
Wish we could be there--have fun!
And remember, you don't need a sheepie, or even a dog, to attend. We just want to have a party, and all are welcome!
