6 year old full-blooded sheepie available

Hi Sheepie Lovers,

I posted about an OES that I had rescued from a woman in Mt. Orab, OH, who claimed to have rescued this OES girl from a backyard breeder because she "had always wanted one and didn't realize how much work sheepies require until after she had taken her." I got her around the end of May and immediately scheduled her for a vet visit to prepare for spaying which she needed. Unfortunately, at the appointment I found out that she had heartworms. Of course I wanted to have her treated because she has such a sweet nature and is a beautiful dog, thinking she would fit right in her with my other dogs. Well the woman never acknowledged my contacting her to tell her about the heartworms and as a result, I believe she knew this when she placed her with me and just didn't want to spend the money to treat her, herself.

In the meantime, Deena has had the two heartworm injections and returned to the vet this week to find out she still has some baby worms and was given a Heartgard treatment and is to go back in one month for another. Also in the meantime, she and my female JRT which is very aggressive with other female dogs have not hit it off. Deena has no problems with either of my other two sheepies (1 male, 1 female) and she gets along with our male JRT, but she growls at my female JRT, and 4 out of 5 times the JRT attacks and they draw blood. In fact the JRT will clamp her teeth on Deena and not let go. If my other dogs are near, they engage also. It is not working out.

There was a very calm compatibility going on here with the four other dogs before Deena arrived and not so, now. In fact I have had to begin using crates again. I was hoping to be able to keep Deena until her treatment was finished so she could be spayed, but frankly it I just don't see how that is going to work. I would like to place her in an approved home ASAP and I can possibly help in the transporting. I can provide proof of her updated immunizations, but she will still need to be spayed because my vet would not do it as long as her tested positive for the heartworms. Deena has no house issues or issues with children as she has gotten along with my six kids who are ages 6 to 16 yrs.

I'm going to try to post a picture but if you don't see one on this post, email me and I can send it directly to you. I've had some trouble before getting a picture on.
