Puppy ate cat toy

Last night Winston my 4month old OES decided to eat a cat toy that was filled with catnip. Called the Vet and was told to watch him. He has eaten all day, played and had normal bowel movements.
How long does it take for things to pass, if they are going to?
BTW - he weighs 46 lbs - so he is a big boy.

May take 24+ hours. Watch for sign of distress..........diarrhea and straining might indicate a blockage or partial blockage. Vomiting would be another sign to watch for.

Probably all will come out in the end, dogs have amazing guts.
Welcome to the forum!!! Hey folks, I work with Heidi's Mom!!! She came and saw us at a show that Caitlyn was competing in several months back. This was after knowing she was getting Winston but before actually picking him up. Listen to this group Heidi as they're all pretty sharp!!!

Hi Vance,
Liz here. Hope you are well and stop feeding cat toys to your dogs. only joking hope you are all well and the toy has emerged xxx
Good news - Winston passed the cat toy today.. no issues. :)
:excited:
WOO-WHO!!!!

Funny thing about cat toys; Caitlyn will shred any cat toy she can find EXCEPT several little soft foam soccer balls we have. They're only about 2" balls and she will carry them around and treat them like gold. She loves them. I freaked out when she first showed interest fearing she'd eat them and they'd cause major problems but she just carries them like her favourite toy. We still have the same three we had when she arrived.

Good news! Mother Nature was very kind to canine tummies since the pups mouth everything, a lot goes down that shouldn't and is expelled without problems......usually. The smoother the contours, the easier they are to pass.
Great news! Love this forum where everyone gets so excited about pooping! Glad everything came out okay
people would think we are mad-excited about pooping!!x
