It's a miracle

We keep Bob gated off in our kitchen when we go out. Well, yesterday we had a couple picnics and the fireworks. We felt terrible on our way home when we were thinking how long we'd left him in the kitchen. We walked in the front door and the first thing we saw was the gate lying flat on the floor and the 2 cats were just loving life laying in the windows that Bob usually loves to look out. So, you get that instant wave of dread "Oh no, what has he destroyed??". But we couldn't find him, then we heard some running upstairs from what sounded like our 2 boys room (which is just an explosion of toys most of the time). So I headed up the stairs and whose fluffy little mug greets me staring down!! See he's not even 4 months yet so he can get up - but not down!! We have no idea how long he was stuck upstairs but the cats seemed REALLY happy so we're thinking he was up there for quite a while. Amazingly, we couldn't find any accidents and nothing even chewed on!! We think he may have gone to his crate. I guess they were shooting fireworks off at the house behind us, so he may have gotten scared and just stayed in his crate. We were gone about 8 hours though - so it was definately a miracle that he was such a good boy!!! we'll have to rethink our confinement plans for when we go out now!!!

Great story, Karen!

Thanks
Pepsi has had full run of the house since we got him at 11 mos old.
He has never destroyed anything. He will however drag stuffed animals and clothes into the living room. Also we know not to leave food on the counter. Last time he ate a loaf of bread.... My Fault!!

Great story!! What a good boy!
What a good boy!!! You should be proud!!!
That is good! I left Beau out while I mowed the grass last week. In just under an hour he had found a mesh sponge in the bath tub and destroyed it, scattered it all over the house (hopefully not eating any! 8O ) and gotten into a bag of chips and had them scattered all over the sofa and floor. It looked like he'd gotten the chips, jumped up on the sofa and ate them while watching TV! 8O  You've gotta laugh at him. He was so proud of himself!
Clyde's such a mama's boy that if I leave him alone for even an hour with full run of the house, he's either in the same place as I left him by the front door waiting, or curled up in his favorite spot to lay with me, on the floor in front of the couch with his head under the coffee table. For longer periods, he goes in his crate. He's so used to be being with me all the time I think he worries something happened to me when I don't come back right away and he's out.
What a good boy!!!

Tuc used to be fine with free run
Bogey destroys everything he can possibly get ahold of, and now tuc seems to be following suit.
Way to go!!! Such a goooood boy!
