Virginia brings comfort

Virginia and I have been going for a few hours a week to a nearby nursing home. This week we arrived to find one of our favourite residents, who lives with Alzheimer's, sitting at a table crying, which is very unusual for this particular lady. The staff said that she was crying over her mother and they couldn't bring her out of it. We walked over and as soon as she saw Virginia she stopped crying. She took Virginia's face in her hands and for half an hour talked to her-apparently Virginia speaks Spanish quite well because she was giving the cutest little bum wiggles in response to her dear friend's words. It was so touching, so sweet. After they were finished chatting, Virginia's friend got up and accompanied her over to where the rest of the group was. She introduced Virginia to everyone and then Virginia made the rounds, with her usual calm and affection. It is like she was born to do this! I, apparently, was born to hold the leash.

And, way to go, Virginia for being bilingual! :high5:
You're so lucky to have such a wonderful girl who knows when - and how - to mend a breaking heart.

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
That's so touching and sweet. :hearts:

Great job Team Virginia. It takes both of your caring hearts to do this wonderful work.
What a big heart Virginia has. She knows how to heal the hurt.
What a wonderful story.
I can see how Virginia could make anyone feel better. Just to look into those wise and gentle eyes :hearts:

Kim, you are the most important accessory that Virginia could have :cheer:
Good job Virginia!
:aww: :aww: :aww:
Virginia is a natural, it's amazing to think, that with her puppies and with just her mere presence, she has brought and brings so much joy and light to the world :hearts:

Virginia finally had her therapy dog exam two weeks ago, it was quite a serious affair, 4 hours in length, and the slightest infraction and you and your dog would be asked to leave. There were 11-12 dogs at the start, and only 4 passed at the end, Virginia was one of them of course!

I am so happy Virginia has found a new career in her retirement, it makes me so proud to see her go off to work! :hearts:

Virginia is awesome! :hearts:
That is such a touching story. I am glad that Virginia was there to work her magic.
Awesome work Team Virginia. :clappurple:

Kim, Kim, Kim I shake my head in despair. Have you not taken heed of Tiggy's posts?

As I am the agility servant you are, of course, the therapy servant.

Your role is chauffeur, lead holder, provider of sustenance and ensurer of beautifulness. Come on get with the program!

I should have known, being a follower of the Great Tiggy, that I was born to serve the sheepie Queen and her Princesses! It is very humbling. I now accept my role as the scullery made of Sheepie Abbey.
Awww, good job Virginia! :aww:

Welcome to the supportive role, Kim. In our group, the therapy dogs are the Members, and the humans are Associate Members.
What a sweet story!! What a great team the two of you are! I am sure that Virginia will bring much joy to many as the two of you continue to 'make a difference' for others! :hearts: :hearts:
What a heartwarming story. Congrats to Virginia for passing the test.
You will have to submit her information for the OES Therapy Dog memory book for this year.

She is too wonderful of a therapy dog not to include her.
