Met a PBGV today

I was at Pet Smart when I rounded a corner and was greeted by a PBGV.
Never seen one in real life before.

I asked the owner if it was a PBGV and she was shocked that somebody knew the breed of the dog.
We chatted for a few minutes.

He was very cute.

:hearts: :hearts: :hearts: Used to be a fellow who'd show up at the local dog shows. I like to think he and I were special buddies, but I think he just loved everybody!! Yep, bet the owner was shocked.

I can't convince DH we should have a small lap dog sometime, just to keep laps warm now that mine is appearing again.
Ok, what is a PBGV
I think they are referring to the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen.
Yes, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen.

Very cute. Pleased I wasn't the only one who didn't know. At the pub last night we had a labradoodle visit-so soft and curly in shades of brown.x
thank you for the pictures, what a handsome dog. They have expressive eyes like our breed :hearts:
Hand to God, I was thinking about this breed last night. They are so freakin' cute, but they are escape artists with strong personalities. Not a breed for the first time dog owner. How could not love that face????
Yeah, the basset part comes thru, they are go-to-grounders, always digging, always looking for prey. Not a dog for the yard unless you don't mind the "bombed" appearance.
The owner said they're not a breed for most owners. I asked why and she replied they are high strung, high energy dogs, that need a lot of activity. They're stubborn and have a mind of their own. Plus their coats need more attention compared to more popular breeds.
She said they act more like a terrier, even though they're in the hound group.
I laughed and said I have an Airedale. Se said "then you know what I mean". :)
That is a very cute dog!
That dog is adorable. I bet they would be a handful.
I love that breed. I think they are sort of like sheepdogs in they have a mind of their own, are very smart and cuddly and so cute. Small in size to me - but then again I am used to 110 pounds and 85 pound sheepdogs! I have seen them at Westminister. I never asked...do they have hair or fur? Shed? Just wondering...
