Stinky

Charlie is now one year old. Starting a couple of days ago, he has begun to give off a funky odor. I can't pinpoint where it's coming from. It's somewhere other than his head. It's not his anal glands (I know that smell from my other dog). I gave him a bath and the smell is still there. I cut his fur back to an inch, and still the smell. The only change is in his food. He was on Innova, which was recalled and now not available until August. Could a change in food make him stink? There is no area that is bothering him. It's just a generalized bad odor coming from all over his back. You can smell him when he enters a room. He has never had a bad odor before. Thanks for any advice. I may have to take him to the vet to find out. Just wondered if any of you have had a similar problem.

Can;t help much but I know a foul odor coming from the skin is a sign of something. I think you should see the Vet. I think others may give their advice as I am sure I have seen this problem before on the forum. Good Luck. Hope nothing too difficult to gt rid of.

By the way, could the odor be coming from his mouth? Like a problem with teeth? Just thinking out loud. And back area, is there a sore or something back there you can't see under the fur? Just thoughts...
Could he have gotten sprayed by a skunk???
Could he have been rolling in something?
Been sprayed by something?
On the rolling topic - if you've had a lot of rain, the earth worms come up and die...dogs LOVE to roll in them in the lawn...and they smell just horrible.
Read food labels, might be something in there, much like people and garlic or onions. Allergy to something in the food. If his coat was greasy, for sure take him to the vet as that is often a sign of a real problem. Is there excess dandruff? Teeth also crossed my mind, a bit of gum problems makes for a stinky dog. Yes, I have found some foods do make them more stinky. Could the food be rancid? Try adding a bit of fresh parsley........start with a small amount and work up. Probiotics may help with digestion. Good luck with the search

Yes seen this EWWWW
Does the order have a slight fishy smell? My OES had an off smell radiating from her that had a slight fish smell when she had a small topical infection. It's hard to see the infection in all that fur. She also scratched that spot more often than the rest of her body. I took her to the vet and he just gave us a special ph balance shampoo that cured the infection and helped her coat.
