What temp do you set your A/C?

We have an ongoing battle here....What temp do you set your a/C? My family says I keep it like a meat locker! I have to admit, I like it cold and so do the dogs!

i like it between 72 and 74. My husband likes it 74-78.

At the house, it's 71 or 72. At the lake, it's 74 or even 76. Both places have ceiling fans going the whole time.
I am cold, but the dogs are comfortable. And isn't that what's important.
I have it set at 76 while I'm at home and 78 during the night. However, I have a portable a/c unit in my bedroom and I keep that at 74. I like it cold when I sleep.
I like it cool, but I'm too practical, I guess. I also like it to be just tolerable and have the humidity down.
We only have a window unit (2 actually, but only 1 in now. The one in our bedroom still needs to get put in).
I set it on low cool, and if people aren't going in and out constantly, it does pretty well, especially if it cools to the 70's at night.
I have an indoor outdoor weather monitor - and it sets right next to me at the table, by my laptop.
It usually reads about 74 in the morning and gets up to 78-79 by bedtime. It's at 79 now, at 10pm. And that's with highs in the low 90's and humid - good enough for me. :D
I also think it's a lot healthier not to have big differences in the AC and outside. It makes it impossible for your body (and your dogs) to acclimate to the summer temps if the house is super chill and it's hot and humid outside.
Okay, I guess my family is right. I keep it at 68! 8O And keep the ceiling fans on. But of course we have lots of humidity which makes it more uncomfortable. Yep, I am making excuses. I just like it cold
A/C? Washingtonians do not have a/c. It doesn't get hot enough. lol
Here in Florida I keep the a/c between 75 at night and 77 during the day. Yes, I keep the temps set for the dogs. At night I do have an electric blanket on my bed that I use most nights.

Get a dehumidifier! That might make it more comfortable for you, but allow for the temperature to go up a bit so that your family doesn't get frostbite.
Mandy, I gave them extra blankets!  Me and the dogs make the decisions!
During the day I keep it at 74-75.
At night I turn it down to 70.
I'm with you Diane, I'm always hot.

That's a hard question to ask because everyone who says 76...may really have a house that 'feels' cooler than the person who has to set it at 72 due to the size of their house, the quality of their A/C, insulation, number of A/C units, etc.

My mom and mil keep their house at 78 and when hot (very comfortable).. bring it down to 75 which is FREEZING cold in their nice new homes.

At our old house, to get that same feeling, it would be set to 72 or lower.

We keep ours at 78 now too, 75 is that light jacket, and bedtime.. we set it to 69, 72 upstairs (and you have to come out with a comforter in the morning b/c one jacket still leaves you with ice fingers).
We have a programmable thermostat. Generally it goes up to about 82 or 83 during the day. 78 for when we get home from work and 76 for bed time.

We have a three story townhouse with the thermostat on the middle level. The dogs stay in the lowest level during the day, so even though the middle level may be 83, the lowest level is probably closer to 78. The bedrooms are on the top level, so even though the thermostat goes down to 76 the bedrooms are probably closer to 78.

If we (or the dogs) get warm we turn on a fan, or turn the air down cooler. I don't like having it too cold in the house, because I don't feel that it is healthy to go back and forth from a really cold house to the hot outdoors. Our bodies also seem to handle the heat better when the house isn't freezing.
Ok, many seem to thing 72-74 is cool. I keep my a/c @ 64-66 DEPENDING on the temp outside. I set it that cool because the upstairs is always warmer. Also, I want my dogs comfortable. My favorite temp is WINDOWS OPEN using GOD'S A/C. He (or she) doesn't send a bill. I keep my heat in the winter set at the same temperatures. And I do use my d-humidifier.
