Saving a picture that is in the body of an email

Friend (AOL user- Gah!) sent me (Gmail user- yea!)a picture in the body of an email, not as an attachment. When I right click and choose "save as" I get the message "file cannot be found." I asked her to resend as an attachment but she is one of the least computer-savvy people in the world. Is it possible to save the pic from the email or am I being stupid?

And when you tell me how to save it, I will post it since it is a very pretty pic of Bob the Wonder Pony.

Have you actually downloaded the email to a desktop client or are you accessing the email online via your browser?
I'm looking at it in my browser. What is a desktop client?
Right click on the photo and choose 'Copy'. Then open the old Microsoft standard issue Paint program and paste it there then save it as a jpeg. People always seem to forget about the old standards like Paint. After saving it, you can do cropping and resizing in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

a desktop client is an actual program such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird or Apple Mail that you read/write emails in, some times when viewing things via the web, content is protected from copying/saving
That's handy to know,I often wondered what the "paint" bit ment. Iam sort of "learning as I go". Daughter help to start me off and it's been "trial + error " since. xx
I don't have Paint. I have Word, Excel, Power Point and Access. I did a screen shot to Power Point but the quality was lousy. I just hope my friend can resend as an attachment. The other thing is her digital camera is so old it still uses a floppy (well, the small hard disk from the early 2000s!).
If you have Microsoft Windows, you have Paint. It's gonna be listed under Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint.

O.K., I found Paint. I right clicked on the pic, chose Copy, opened Paint. The only paste option is paste from, then it lists my computer and files. Nothing about pasting selected image.
Wander on over to the Picture forum to see Bob in his field. Judi was able to send me the picture so I could save it as a JPG. Judi has mad skillz!

I'm going to try the Paint thing at home. I think certain functions are disabled here at work.
Once in Paint, simply try to right click on the open screen and choose 'Paste'.

Awww, Bob looks great!!! :D

He's getting a little sway in his back, but he looks in great condition. Happy boy!
Vance, I tried it again and it worked. Now I have two ways to do this: I can do it, or Judi will do it for me!
