Proud papa here

When I had Brick at the vet today to get his stitches out, the vet commented how good a dog Brick is.
And not just like a "he's a good dog". It was more like stopping what she was doing, looking at me, and saying " he is SUCH a good dog". And then saying, "Brick, you are one of my favorites. Just don't tell the other dogs".
Within that conversation, she said he was "an absolute peach"

Needless to say, I was a very proud papa!

Of course you are! But also hats off to his socialization before.
Susan,
When you say "before", do you mean before we got him?
If so, then no. There was no socialization before we got him.
First off, he came from a backyard breeder (sorry guys, I didn't know better back then), the pups were kept in a small utility trailer in the yard, the mom was chained to a tree, the breeder was hesitant to let us meet the dad, and she let him go to us when he was only 6.5 weeks old.

He was an absolute crazy nut job as a pup. We brought a behaviorist in for some help and he said he'd take him when we had enough. Of course that was a "challenge accepted" moment.
You should be proud. When you have a good dog it is not only a reflection on the dog's temperament but on your training efforts as well.

It is always nice to hear compliments on your "kids". :)
Congrats on the good report!!!
We all know Brick's a good boy...Chewie would vouch for him too :D
:hearts: :hearts: :hearts: Brick's always been a great boy! Nice to know his vet thinks so too!
Good boy, Bricky!

:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
What a nice compliment! You should be very proud. Brick is a sweetheart!
He is the sweet sheepie disguised as an airedale that I have ever met! :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:
Of course you are proud, Brick is a great boy :hearts: So glad that he is finally out of the cone!
Brenda,
Oh no, he is NOT out of the cone.
When he had his stitches removed on Thursday, the vet said, "you can take the cone off in another 2 or 3 days". I laughed.

I told her, because he's so obsessive, I won't be able to remove the cone for another 3 or 4 weeks; after the sites are completely healed and the fur has grown back some. Otherwise, he'll just get to the sites and open them up.
