Thoughts to Bricky today. Bump removal surgery today.

Hi all,
Bricky goes in for some minor bump removal surgery today.
He has a few small bumps on him that the doc wants to remove. She doesn't suspect anything but wants to remove them just the same.

I'll drop him off on the way to work and pick him up on the way home. Gonna be a long, tough day at work today.

If you can spare some thoughts for him, we'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Thinking of Brick, I'm sure he'll be ok! :crossed: :crossed:
I dropped him off at 7:30 AM, they'll do the surgery in the morning, and I have to call at 2:00 PM to see how he did and find out when I can pick him up.

As Tom Petty once said, "The waiting is the hardest part".
:ghug:

Oscar just went through this in April, with growth removals on his foot, right above the pad, and two on his eyelids. Oscar looked like he'd just gone a few rounds in the ring! The eyelids are the worst, as we couldn't let Oscar rub his face on the carpet, which he does every night. Took two weeks for the stitches to come out. Looooooooong two weeks. :)

Poor Bricky! I suspect the itchy post-op will be more frustrating than the bumps for him!

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Brick has one on the lower rim of the left eye, 2 on his snout, 1 on the top of his RR foot, and 1 on the leading edge of his RR thigh.

And yes, post-op will be the worst. Keeping him from trying to get to the itchy, burny, stingy, owwee parts of his body will be work that I'm not looking forward to.
Good luck Bricky!!! You will be fine. No itching buddy :)
We'll be thinking of Brick today! Good luck buddy. :ghug: :ghug:
Thinking of you today Brick! :ghug:
Just got off the phone with the vet.
He's doing just fine and can go home at any time.

Vet doesn't feel the bumps need to go to pathology. I'm kinda thinking they should go anyways. Thoughts?
I'm happy to hear that Brick is ready to come home. I hope he heals quickly.
I called them back and asked them to do the pathology.
No sense in doing all that work to not find out what they are.
:ghug:
We're home now. He's lying down next to me, none too happy.
I feel bad for him. Looks like he went a few rounds in the ring. :)

He's got his huge cone on.

Just a little water tonight, maybe a biscuit if he acts really hungry. Otherwise, back on food and start of Rimidyl tomorrow morning.

Vet said he did really well today. He was her easiest patient today.
Give Brick a hug from us! Hope he feels better soon :ghug:
Glad he came out of surgery okay, I hate the fear of the animal not waking up. Give him a kiss.
Glad it's all over and Brick's back home!!

:D :D
Glad Brick is home. I hope he is easier on his eyelid stitches than Oscar was. Oscar's were like extra long eyelashes, and the tough part was that one was on the upper lid and one on the lower lid of the same eye. Sometimes the stitches would catch on each other, and he'd come over to me, blinking like crazy, to have me fix it. Poor pup.

I would definitely have sent the samples to the lab as well. Seems silly to remove things and not check them out.

Hope Brick is feeling better tomorrow.

He seems to be doing pretty well all things considered.

I took him out for potty before bed and he peed & pooped. We went back inside and he started barking at his food bowl and looking at me. I gave him just a very small amount of food and he gobbled it up, drank a bit of water, then gave me one kiss :aww:

Now he's in bed.

Sounds great, but the first 2 or 3 days after are pretty easy.
When those stitches & cuts begin to itch & sting & burn & hurt in a few days, that's when the "fun" starts.
Stitches? Wondering why they didn't use skin glue? Especially with those locations, it would heal smoother, and also be less irritating to him. Less pulling and puckering, plus don't need to be removed. My vet uses it almost exclusively now.
The plastic surgeons use it on people all the time, as it's tolerated better and less scarring. Much more pleasant all the way around.
Glad Brick is home and doing well! :ghug:
Heal fast Brick!

Cindy
Just got a message from the vet.
All the bumps were benign.
:clappurple:  :cheer: :yay:
very good!!! :D :D

Great News! How is Brick healing? My Bowie is back to normal after his double lump surgery a few weeks ago. His hair is even growing back! Sending lots of sheepie hugs to brick!
He's wearing his cone.
But he seems to be handling this surgery better than the one he had just after this past Christmas.

He gets the stitches in his eye rim out on Thursday and the rest of them out the following Wednesday.

Because he's so obsessive, I'll probably have to leave the cone on for at least a month; until the wounds are healed and the fur grows back some.
All the stitches are out.
Vet says incision sites look great!

Nothing else for us to do but get the sites completely healed up.
