Herding grandkids

We have 4 grandkids this week ranting from 6 to 11. The boys love to go outside and play with them or supervise the kid's play. They are fine when they are all together but when one breaks off the pack both dogs hustle and try to herd them back to the group. Very frustrating for the 6-year old!

But so funny to watch though!!x
Mine does too. Well the nieces and nephews. She makes the 3 year olds cry. First we are working on training the kids to say "no chowder" firmly. But really We either keep her on a 30 ft. leash or inside when they visit until they are a bit older and steadier on their feet.
Mine too. Our 4 grandkids are 6 months to 10 yrs. But they are no strangers to it. They are 2 families, and live just 5 miles away. Todd did daycare for them here at our house for several years. And the older 2 have only known sheepdogs as dogs for most of their life. They have Chewie's sister Martha ...and their 2nd dog is an Australian Cattledog who is Bre's (the 10 yr old) dog...no way those kids can roam! They think it's what all dogs do.... ;)
Dexter primarily uses the shoulder shove method of herding, gets around in front of them and pushes them where he wants them to go. Winston prefers the nip method, nipping on the opposite side of where he wants them to go, when that fails he grabs a piece of shirt or shorts and pulls them back where they are supposed to be. We allow Dexter's method but not Winston's.
That is life with hearding dogs. I have 1 OES and 2 Aussies. 1 of my Aussies is very bossy, I won't name her here, but most know which one she is. lol
Hahaha, yea it happens. Kids (cousins, nieces, nephews, friends children) that come into my house know the #1 rule is don't run. Why don't we run in my house...Lily. How do I know kids are braking this rule, besides the pitter patter of tiny feet? "no lily, No Lily, NO Lily! NO LILY NO!"

She will also fetch ill behaving children.
Moe is half OES..he did this until he was two..he only does it now when they are playing soccer..and this means they all want him on their team
