Quest for dog resistant hardwood.... Acacia?

We have 2 dogs and presently live in a house built in the 1960's that has original Oak hardwood floors. We completely re-finished them last summer and they already have a few scratches on them from the dogs but have stood up ok. I keep their claws short but when they run around/chase the cat/bounce around scratches happen. I have heard older Oak flooring is quite durable but am looking for something harder for a house we are moving to.

Somebody recommended 'hand scraped' (distressed looking) Acacia flooring to us as we wanted to go dark and were concerned about the dogs scratching off the top layer of stain. The hand scraped look is supposed to help hide damage too. Acacia is supposedly darker naturally and is harder than Oak or Maple.
Has anybody seen these floors installed? Does anybody have any wood/finish/style floor suggestions to check out? We do have our heart set on wood and realize it will get damaged but are looking for something that will stand up somewhat to the traffic in our house in the kitchen, dining/living room and hallways.

Wow! Those look awesome! I think we will try them out! I am guessing sheepies are the XXLarge.
