Aggressively defending the family

We have said that Dexter is all bark and no bite. He is loud initially but usually runs in the face of discoverd danger.

He is also our teenager, if I go outside to work he stays inside; likes he's afraid I will make him do some of the work. Winston on the other hand doesn't miss a second of yard work and tries to pitch in, often standing between my legs closely supervising whatever it is I'm doing. The result of that is that Dexter often hears the leaf blower from inside the house and Winston ignores it.

Both boys were outside with me today when I needed to use the blower. I started it, which takes quite a few pulls, inside the garage. Dex knew where I was and heard some startling noise, obviously something horrible was attacking Dad in the garage. He came to my rescue in full sheepie rage. He was sure the thing in my hand was what was attacking me and was furious at it! Winston thought he was being silly and tried to get him to play but there was no play in Dexter who sternly put Winston in his place and moved him out of the way so he could save Dad. I has to set the blower down and go to Dex to settle him down. He was full of "humph", proud that he saved the day. I was proud of him, too!

Looks like we do have a home defense!

  Mady and Gracie go into hysterics whenever Kim or I touch a shovel, broom, or rake and they bark and threaten to attack it. Thankfully, they don't seem to mind if other people are using them.
Maybe that's it, I have been working in the yard a lot lately, maybe he just wanted me to take it easy!
my daytona use to do that with the blower i was scrared she would break her teeth also the vaccum and blow dryer this went on for 13 yrs
Dex and Win bark at the vacuum but it's as a game with smiles on their faces. Dexter wanted to tear the blower apart! He was angry which I have never seen in him.
I laugh at that, there amazing when it comes to defending the family.

My previous sheepie was the vacuum monster that lived in the cupboard. And another was the iron board transformer that came out on occassions. Also down the side of the freezer, we thought we had a spectre living in there 8O   Head would jam between the freezer and the wall and out of know where BARK BARK BARK, I am positive we had a gremlin !!! :lmt: :twitch:

Go Dexter protect the realm!!!!! :excited: :yay:
