My dog is insane!

Okay, maybe not insane but something is up with her! She's 9 months old, goes for about a 3 mile walk every day, visits with dog friends at the dog park a few times a week and has a blast playing with my 6 year old human. She has no shortage of toys and antlers to chew. For the past few days she has been a complete crazy dog! She hardly sleeps, even at night - grrrrr. She is constantly looking for something to do. She was like this as a young puppy but then started calming down around 6 months. I don't know if she's going through a second puppyhood or what! Also, it's been super hot outside (90 degrees) and that's not even slowing her down. Any suggestions on why she's acting like this or what I can do to calm her down?

Valium? :P I have one that is 16 months and is extremely busy especially at night. She helps me read in bed, we have the same taste in books, shoes, slippers, bedding and she enjoys crown molding. She has lots of toys plus another sheepie in the house to play with. We walk, go for rides (if the ride is long enough she crashes when we get home) and play. I firmly believe she runs on solar and stores the energy. HOPEFULLY it is a puppy phase :lmt: I will be interested to read everyone elses suggestions.
Is she maybe close to her first season or is she spayed already?
Funny this post comes up right under the other one about her dog being lazy! LOL!

I will say though, if she is restless and pacing, etc, could she not be feeling well or in some kind of pain?

I find even long walks don't work as well as throwing a ball around..but in 90 degree heat, be careful not to let her over exert. Or you!
Diane is right, one form of pain is their pacing and restlessness. Then again, it is time for the Brain Dead months were you are sure someone stole your well behaved sheepdog and substituted a real brat.

Being so warm they tend to be nocturnal during the day and want to play at night. Do what you can to "exert" them during day so they are plum tuckered by evening.
Thanks for the responses. She is spayed so I know it's not that. I'll try throwing the ball a bit more to see if that helps, even if we have to do it in the A/C. My husband has been traveling a lot so maybe she just misses him. Hopefully she'll outgrow it - again!!
Work on some obedience training, too, something that will tire her brain out a bit. Do a few minutes here and there throughout the evening.
She must be a "dadies girl". Seriously tho, they do seem to "go through" these mad phases-if she isn't in pain, eats etc ok then that bit fine. We had "relaxation" periods-made Sprocket "take time out" . I did a kind of "doggy massage" like a indian head massage. He loves it and when gets over excited he comes up to me and sits in "the position" we start in as if to say-"mum,I need to calm down".x
Good news - husband is back and pooch slept though the night. Bad news - husband has to go out of town again this week. I'm yawning already! Thanks for all the responses!
She still IS a puppy and will be well until at least 2 years, if you are going to be the primary upright in her life you have to wean her off daddy
