Feeding

Hello! Winston is a very happy 8-month old OES male at about 65-70 pounds. He is still eating large breed puppy kibble 3x/day. I'm looking for advice on when to cut out his lunch meal and when he should switch to adult kibble. Anyone with experience, please chime in!

Our breeder recommends puppy food for 18 months. She also said the dog will decide when to go to 2 meals a day. Dexter quit being interested in lunch at 6-8 months. Our Winston would eat lunch still if we fed it but we quit giving it to him at 12-13 months. They still get the same amount of food each day but in 2 meals rather than 3. Dexter often chooses to eat one meal a day.

Dexter wasn't a very good eater and tended to be thin so he got puppy food as long as Winston was still eating it, Win went to adult food at about a year.
I feed mine Large Breed Puppy until they are a year old and then switch to the adult. At 8 months mine are fed 2x a day.
We were on large breed pup till 14 months as have previous pups. He still has a handfull of adult kibble at lunch time rather than any biscuits during the day as he gets upset tum on biscuit.x
We fed twice a day from 14 weeks, and large breed puppy food for a year.
It seems to vary so much-If you go by the product label I tend to think you can't go to wrong. Our 1st breeder always said-"don't rush them to grow up-they have a lot of growing to do".x
