Update on Bowie's surgery

Bowie is home and is okay. He was very alert, walking okay and wagging his butt when I picked him up. He does have two rather large shaved areas and many stitches. Vet said both looked benign and not suspecious but they went out for biopsy anyway. He is now snuggled into his bed and looks comfy.

He did come home with two meds...Chloramphenicol ( anti biotic) and Gabepentin (pain). I am not familiar with either of these? Anyone> I looked them up but didn't say much.

Hopefully he will be comfortable tonight and not scratch - but we have a comfy cone and a t shirt just in case.

It has been a stressful today for everyone!

Glad everything went well.. hope things are just as good when he's more awake.
Bowie is doing well :clappurple: A little sleepy with the meds but not trying to scratch or lick the wounds...Keep paws crossed his healing continues.
You and he will be fine. Just watch the incisions and his paws/mouth. Some unusual activity will help him take his mind off his booboos. Car ride, short walk in a new area (watch for sun burn on skin), new toy, good meaty bone (ooops, messy beard). Keep up the antibiotics.........don't want an infection.
He has been sleeping and looks quite comfy. Difficult to do anything to get things off his mind. It has been pouring all day. He is only allowed out to do his business so no walks and jumping into the car is not allowed yet. He doesn't seem to mind doing nothing and has not attempted to lick or scratch so far. The meds do seem to make him sleepy. The back rear lump was in the muscle so Doc said to keep him from jumping, running, etc until stitches come out. Its a tough weekend!
In muscle, Oh My! Yeah, keep him quiet. Sorry about the rainy weekend, but you could share.....
