SHIN-DIG TRAVELERS ~ HEALTH CERTIFICATES!!!!

I just got off the phone with the US Department of Agriculture. My vet recommended I give them a call to check and see exactly what we needed to have to be able to take our dogs into Canada. Everything I read online said we just needed the Rabies Vaccination Records. But at the USDA, they said we could be asked to produce a health certificate at the border.

So I'm off to make a vet appointment now! Hopefully anyone reading this will either already have gotten their certificate, or will have enough time to get one!

This is what my vet gave me when I asked for a health certificate and proof of rabies vaccination.

Will this be enough?
I don't have a health cert. yet, but if that's what your vet gave you, run with it!
Posted on your other thread already....
Our Vet wants to know which port we will use to enter Canada. They seem to think there may be different requirements. If we travel thru New York and cross at Buffalo, which port is it?
Hi,
Your vet is probably referring to which Province you are entering. If you are crossing in the Buffalo area you are crossing into Ontario Province. There are four bridges you can cross from the Buffalo area into Ontario: Peace, Rainbow, Whirlpool Rapids and Lewiston-Queenston Bridges. The most direct crossing to the hotel will be the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. However watch the highway signs in the area for border crossing times. it is not unusual to have a two hour wait and you can change your route if you see one of the other bridges is a shorter crossing time. Can't wait to see everyone.

Thank you Kathie, she was unsure so she filled out multiple forms 8)

Our map indicates the Peace bridge, hopefully it will all go quickly.
this is good to know! we're going to get our certificates in an hour or so, so I'll copy and bring this information!
