Sheepie-looking flowers for Mothers day

I just came across this, and thought it had a very OES look about it! 8)

I wonder if you could request a few darker flowers for an eyepatch or ear? :lmt:

That is really cute!
There are floral paints where they could color the carnation. I'm tempted to get one just to see how they put it together. I think I know. Years ago I remember a designer did a free standing dog...adorable! Carve the floral foam, attach head and legs and start adding carnations.
IS IT WRONG TO ORDER ONE FOR MYSELF, AND HAVE IT BE FROM THE DOGS...? :lmt:
no allison,
they would if they could. 8)
cool lol

Tonks & Luna said they want you to order one for yourself.
I'm so tempted to go out and get white carnations and floral spray and have some fun with it!!! :-)
LOL...
Didn't anyone order one for themselves?? I wanted to know how the foam was cut. Yeah, I could probably figure it out, but not now. I did a big floral thing for church week before Mother's Day and don't want to think about flowers for awhile. All the Oasis foam is packed away and I'd rather not pull it out for awhile.
DUH!!

Instructions

Choose your container. A small basket or a bowl with low sides will work fine. If it's a basket, line it with plastic to make it waterproof. Soak your foam reservoir and trim it so that it extends 1 inch above the rim of the container. Insert the foam into the container and secure it with bowl tape, which is waterproof. Insert a few leatheleaf into the foam sideways, to create the look of a bed of grass.

Place one blossom in the center of the foam, leaving an inch or two of stem. This will be the puppy's head. Take two more blossoms and place one on each side of the center blossom, slightly angled. These will be the puppy's ears. All three of these blossoms should be touching.

Insert three more blossoms below the head and ears. These should be angled to face slightly forward. The center blossom will be the puppy's nose, and the two other blossoms placed on either side will be the face. Insert a blossom between the nose bloom and the head bloom, and two more blossoms below the nose to fill in space as needed.

Place two more blossoms in the foam to form the feet, which will perch on the edge of the container. Insert or glue the eyes and nose in the center of the appropriate blossoms. The eyes should be close enough to the ears to make your bouquet appear more puppy-like.

Fill in with leatherleaf in back to create the illusion of a puppy sitting in grass. Add small flowers to the background. Tie a small ribbon and attach it below the puppy's chin.

There's no foam carving, but then I still had the old poodle in mind, complete with 4 legs and a pompom tail. There some foam sculpture and dowels or foam glue might be necessary to make doggie outline. The above is all just careful placement in the foam. Y'all can do it!!

Wow........can we :?: :?
I'll pass on. :sidestep:
Actually flower arranging isn't that hard with a little practice. Remember with foam the holes don't heal over so no setting and resetting, etc. And if it isn't perfect the first time.........they are still flowers! Leather leaf is the fern-like foliage usually sold along side the flowers like at Sams or Costco. Just snip bits and stick in foam.
