Hello from Vancouver/Ottawa

Hi OES Forum Members!

I'm a huge dog lover, and I've been thinking about getting an OES for a while now. I've been following this board to try to help me decide whether the OES was the right fit for my family and you were such a help! From keeping me chucking about antics with washing machines, to biting my nails at the prospect of month after month of 3am pee-breaks, to grappling with crate training and tail-docking, I can't thank you all enough for helping me make what I feel was a really informed decision.

...and I was sold! My partner and I just put down a deposit on a (sure to be) beautiful sheep dog from Blueshire, who is not yet a twinkle in her mother's eye (Suzy). We're hoping to have her in our arms sometime in September and couldn't be any more excited! We really feel like we're joining a great community of other OES owners, and are looking forward to doing our bit to raise another happy, healthy OES (and another family member to spoil rotten! oh, and a nice warm body for the cold Ottawa bed!)

We've nicknamed her Daisy, and she'll be joining the family in either Vancouver or Ottawa, depending on when our transfer out East comes through. I still have billions of questions, and I thought rather than continuing to call Amber at all hours with pages of crazy questions, I'd post them on this board in case other new parents had the same worries.

So all that's to say "hi", "ohmygoodnessi'msoexcited" and "thanks for being a great resource out there."

Welcome from Tennessee!

Our little bundle of furry joy is also coming from Blueshire. Amber is awesome, and we are so excited! :excited: Sam should be home in around 4-5 weeks! :yay: I am now in the process of buying all our puppy supplies and trying to store up extra sleep. The wait is hard at times, but it does go by fast.

This forum is great for getting answers to all the questions you have and the ones you didn't even know to ask. And everyone loves pics, so I can't wait to flood the forum with mine and see yours too!
Welcome & congrats.
Lotsa Blueshire pups on this board. Amber breeds wonderful sheepies.

And if you're moving to Ottawa, there are a bunch of board members up that way.
Oh boy! Can't wait to see Suzy's pup!
Welcome from Ottawa. With a Blueshire you can't go wrong. There are many Blueshire sheepies here in Ottawa and I'm sure you will hear from them.
I can totally relate with your excitement! I'm on week 3 with my my little Fred and loving almost every minute of it! I made a list of things I'd need, especially higher priced items, and bought something each pay day... I'd like to say it made the time go faster but I'd be lying.. it did help me stay in denial about about much I was spending.. I mean it helped spread out the expense comfortably
Welcome to the forum and hopefully welcome to Ottawa! We live in the Hintonburg neighbourhood (a few kilometres from Parliament Hill) with our 3 Blueshire girls, Virginia, who is 7, Mady who is 3, and Gracie who is 1 and a half (she insists I mention that half year!). Feel free to get in touch if you are moving here, or even before you move if you have any questions about Ottawa and what the best dog neighbourhoods are! If you need us to steal, I mean, watch your puppy while you unpack, just ask! :sidestep:
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your soon-to-be- pup :)
Hi, you're moving from Vancouver to Ottawa? Are you sure about that? 8O  We will be very happy to welcome you to Ottawa and help you get introduced to sheepdogs if it's before your puppy, and help you with your puppy afterwards!

Here's Mady standing on guard:

Sheepdogs are very popular with tourists in the city:

Hopefully you'll get here during the summer and enjoy some patio weather

My girls are very experienced in showing puppies what's what
(with Fuzz)

(with random pup)

(With Monty)

(With Winston)

So my girls will be thrilled to meet your puppy and teach him or her what's what as well! (we wouldn't mind either)

Enjoy your little bundle when you get him or her, they're little for such a short time!

And of course, feel free to send us email or a pm or you can get our phone number if you have ANY questions or concerns!
