SpongeBob fans...or kids fan of this character

Parker starts school in the fall, and we want to celebrate that. We feel that altho every kid HAS to start school, it is a huge deal for them. I LOVE to celebrate milestones in my kids life.

So we had a party for Madelyn last summer, in the backyard, with a clown, and lots of kids...BBQ for parents, alot of fun.

This summer is Parker's turn, and we are planning to do this at the lake. We are going to a lake that is close to our friends place...their daughter is also starting K this fall. As well as other friends...it's more convientent for them and a camping trip for us.

Parker wants a SpongeBob party. This is what I have so far: Hawaiiann Dress UP theme, Crabby Patties (cheeseburgers), Bikini Bottom Treasure Hunt.

So between the beach and the campsite I hope this is gonna be fun. So far we have 5 kids including my 2. I will have treat bags, cake and icecream. They are all 5-6 yr olds.

Any suggestions to make this more SpongeBob friendly, or games to play??? I can make the campsite the "Krusty Crab"...with a menu of Crabby Patties (cheeseburgers), Plankton Salad (caesar salad) Sandy Bottom cupcakes?? Patrick Starfish (something), and we can't leave out Squidward.

Maybe you could find a Spongebob pinata, or play "pin the pants" on spongebob (We all have seen him in his underwear, so just have a cardboard cutout of him in his undies and the kids could put his pants on--or is that too weird? )
And of course, you have to have some dress up stuff for the kids--like maybe an eye-patch, or something so they can feel like they are one of the characters...
Sorry, I have no kids--just thinking what might be fun for me!
What a hoot...that is a good idea. I can do that, both ideas.

I'll have to make sure we can hang a spongeBob to the trailer, but they will love that.
And maybe some of those shiny blue streamers that you can get at party stores so it will look like your campground is under water! Maybe string them up from the trailer over to some trees so they are above everyone... (I'm having way too much fun--but I LOVE SpongeBob!--I have a SpongeBob sponge in my shower!)
Jake had a spongebob party for his 3rd birthday. I used this website to get ideas!

This is great I loved that website, I got alot of ideas. I was searching but found alot of advertisements for buying stuff. I have to do this cheap, and I like to shop around.

Okay so for party favors how does this sound:

sand pail/shovel, pirate patch, bubble solution, S Bob stickers, sun glasses

Party Food:

Krabby Patties, fruit salad in a pineapple, SpBob cake and icecream, hot dogs etc

Games:

Treasure Hunt in the sand either for gold choc coins, or sea shells
Scavenger Hunt: pebble, leaf, shell, feather, stick etc.
Sponge toss... into the Chum Bucket
Soak a sponge/fill a bucket race
Pin the pants on SBob

(Free Play...whatever they want to do at the beach, while I set up the campsite)

Crafts (if needed)

Bubble art...food coloring and plain paper, straws, etc
Make your own spongebob...yellow sponge, pipe cleaners and sticky google eyes. Markers or paint to finish.
Color spongebob pictures.

I also what to have the kids come dressed up for a beach luau party...grass skirts, flower shirts, lei's will be handed out for all guests.
I HATE spongebob.... lol... my boys watch it sometimes still, and I can't stand the sound of it so I usually crank up the stereo in my office to drown it out.
I hear ya, he can be soooooo annoying, but the kids LOVE it. When we asked him what kinda of party he wanted, he picked it. I don't mind it, some of the shows are really funny.
What a very cool idea there Mom. I am still a kid at heart, and wish I could be there for the Spongebob party!! We all like SB!! You have got some very cool ideas to make this a very memorable day.
Take lots of pictures, I would love to see how it turns out!! We have had lots of theme's over the years. From Pooh, Blues Clues, Monster Trucks, Disney Princess, Bob the builder, and my absolute favorite THE WIGGLES!! I am a blue wiggle, if you know the Wiggles you will understand that!! LOL We get to go to our 2nd Wiggly concert in August. This time it is more for myself than the kids, but hey Mom's can have fun and "wiggle" too, can't they. Who needs to pay money for excersise tapes, just do the dances from the show....LOL Ok, enough rambling for me. Have lots of fun!! Maybe you could put food coloring in the patty and make "pretty patties". LOL

Let us know how it goes!!

Thanks I will take lots of pictures. If the Wiggles were as good for you as they were here, it will be a blast. We bought the sparkley light wand with the car on top...it's fun but I wish it could be a flashlight too.
Hi,

My boys are older now but the kids whom I work with, at school were sooooo much into SpongeBob, that I rented movies on Fridays if they had a good week. (I teach disabled kids, so Fridays are always our fun days).

One of the best Birthday party ideas that I just love, is this. If you place gummy worms in red jello they all but dissapear. You can't see them until you dip your spoon in or ? For one of my kids parties I did that using the mini pie plates and had each child wear a green garbage bag and they went through a series of obstacles...one was the gummyworms in jello. Hands behind the back....like a pie eating contest...go on to next event if you can pull out the gummy worm using your teeth.

Sounds like the kids are going to have a great time with all the things you have so far..oh and don't forget the music.

Daisie, what about having Spongebob karaoke? If us adults, can memorize the songs, after the 20th rerun. I know the kids should know the songs.....LOL Put on a video tape, and it can be copied and gave back to the kids at the party for them to remember the occasion. For craft time, they could make instruments.

Also, I was thinking of one of my daughter's very favorite presents, and something even her little brother play with. I only take it from them for my own personal fun sometimes.....LOL

You can change your voice to sounds like Mushu, off of Mulan, Gaston, off of Beauty and the Beast, Sebastian off of The little Mermaid, and I think there is one more. It has plenty of songs on it, and for a little bit more you can get more cartridges with more songs, although some are repeats. It is a big hit in this house. I also think they have a red and yellow one that is more designed for boys, but I haven't found it yet. I would like to get Joey one.

Just another idea, we had a SpongeBob party a few years ago and I had a little bubble machine going (like the kind you get at the Disney store) to make it seem like you're under the water. Sounds like you're going to have lots of fun!!!!!!!!
Those are great ideas, ones that might be better suited for a house party...perhaps not at a campsite. We won't have power...at this lake.
