Looking for playmate for our 2 yr old OES

In November we lost our big boy, Mr. Beau Jangles, who we rescued using this forum about 5 years ago. He was a wonderful companion for our elderly OES ,Molly Malynka and treated her like gold, until her natural passing.

We purchased an OES puppy in 2010, and once again he was extremely tolerant and patient with this rambunctious puppy, JayAr. Jay Ar is 2.5 years old and is lost without her buddy. We have tried to keep her busy with play, human wrestling, and even a tread mill, but it's not the same.

So we're looking for an OES rescue that could fit the bill. We live in centrl-east Alberta, Canada where OESs are very rare. Please keep us in mind if you become aware of any "youngish" OES that need a home. Our girl is 2 years, and is quite dominant, but gentle. So a shy or elderly dog would probably not be a good fit.

There have been a few OES mixes on petfinder, in western USA, but since our passports are expired, and none of the rescue groups are able to meet us at the US/Canada border, we are very limited in our search.

Did you find a dog? There are two available to adopt out of Edmonton listed on kijiji. You might want to check it out. They look like lovely dogs, but I'm all full up at the moment.
Thanks Laura,
I believe this pair was listed on Petfinder. They want to have the pair rehomed together, and 3 dogs would be too much for our family. (We already have cats, birds, horses and cattle).
Furthermore, I'm not sure how the dynamics would work. Usually with odd numbers, one is left out.
Thanks, for your suggestion though.
Wendy
Wendy, we've had three dogs for most of our married life (36 years). Even though we just rescued an abandoned pup last month to put us at four dogs, three is the perfect number. There is always somebody to play with while you have one-on-one attention with the other one.
Grooming, food and vet bills might be a concern, but it really isn't that much once they are spayed/neutered.

But everyone has their own limits and it is good to know them.
Had three sheepies for many years as well, and we have lots of members here who do.

The rule of three is there for us humans, but dogs don't pay much attention to it! :D

Really the biggest consideration is expense as Mom of 3 points out. I'm down to one for the first time in 15 years and I feel like I got a raise.
