What's your opinion...

Duke and I are trying to figure out which class to take next. We have done basic obedience, and beginner agility. We are purely looking to have fun nothing competitive unless he turns out to be a star and then we'll see. Our choices are pretty cool.

Canine Good Citizen
Rally Obedience
Agility
Flyball instruction by the Maine Coast Runners
they also offer nosework

Not sure he'll have any interest in flyball though I do. He just doesn't seem interested enough in toys or playing fetch. I am really leaning towards nosework because it is something so different from what we have done but I am just wondering if he will end up getting into trouble after being trained how to use his superpower nose? :lmt:

I also get a free class at Petsmart and I think we'll take the click a trick class there.

Has anyone done any of these classes other than agility? What can we expect?

We do all of them except nosework (it's not offered by me). Good thing too - or I'd be trying to squeeze it in too, no doubt ;)

Chewie loved flyball - but we wanted to focus on agility. They have opposite jump styles (flat and low for flyball, rounded for agility) - so we had to pick. I tried flyball w/ Riley our rat terrier, but he has zero ball or toy play drive
, so we finally gave up....someday....

CGC doesn't need any special class - it's just basic obedience and common sense (I'm an evaluator) - so no sense wasting money on taking a class just for that. Just go take the test!

We love rally - when Chewie was competing in RAE - entering both advanced and excellent - he was the #1 ranked OES in the country - and just won high combined (RAE) last fall at our nationals. My basset Simon excelled at it too - we had lots of fun. Riley has his basic (RN - rally novice) title, and Bond is getting ready to start too. In fact I have today off work, so we actually can make the class...it's going to be our treat today :)

I love agility - but to do it right it really is a dedication on the human's part. There are some places that do it for fun, but not always the safest....as true agility really stresses preparation and foundation...so it's not that exciting or immediate gratification as people tend to like. Just a "beware" if you are looking at that.

Truly - all sound fun. It's great you guys are doing all this - more people should. :)
