Winston's Early Summer Haircut

With the combination of coat transition and opportunity i took Winston to the groomer for his summer haircut a little early. He got full service; bath, blow dry, haircut and play time.

Shortly after I dropped him off the groomer called saying he was far from cooperative. They said they could blow him dry and return him or I could come help. I elected the latter.

After his bath and blow dry:

When he got home Dexter had to make sure it really was his brother!

When it was all over he had some time to play while I paid the bill. He tried to entertain a female Pug. The groomer suddenly yelled at Win and I went to investigate. She said the Pug wouldn't play with Win so he applied the old maxim - "If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and move on." He cocked his leg, peed on the Pug and walked away. Someone got a free dog bath!

I know I shouldn't laugh at that, but I did. Wonder if that pug got a rewash?
Wow, I wonder if after all that behavior, if your boys will be welcome back?? 8O

He looks cute though!! :D
I did have to laugh at the "early summer" comment....we are nowhere even close. March is our snowiest month of the year, traditionally.
We are still a couple months from swimming, usually mid-May. We are seeing highs in the mid-60s and lows in the high-30s to mid-40s.

You have long, cold winters, we have long, hot summers. It all depends on what a person prefers. We can't handle cold very well. My wife is a native Texan, I'm not but I like the saying "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as soon as I could."

I like that saying :)
I am OK with heat, but heat with humidity just does me in. I'm worthless.
I did an exchange trip through 4-H when I was a teen, to the panhandle of TX - the Palo Duro Canyon area. I loved it, as it was hot (it was July), but super dry! We (us from MN) were freaking out our host mom, as she thought because we were from MN, that we would be too hot outdoors. She barely believed us when we told her we get 90's-100 and it was way more humid. The 110-120 with no humidity was a treat!! :D

They were just talking on the morning TV news here, about when to call spring "spring". Technically it's March 20th, but the weather forecasters said they tend to group it by quarters - so all of March, April and May would be considered spring. I can agree w/ that.
March is our most snow, but still good as we are not that cold - we get many days that get above freezing.
April is usually a month dedicated to melting snow, rain and mud. NOT my favorite at all! Especially on a farm, on a gravel road...it's the only time I'm jealous of urban people who live in the land of cement and pavement. 8)
May we get warmer, and mow our lawns for the 1st time!
I have spent a lot of time in Amarillo. Winter there is very different from the summer; they have a saying (Texans have a saying for almost everything!) "the only thing between Amarillo and the North Pole is a barbed wire fence and it's down most of the time." They got over 20" of snow early this week! The entire Panhandle is shutdown.
:aww: :aww: Winston is adorable, summer cut or not! Pug, smug, right Winston? Hug them both for me.
As to weather - we still frosty mornings but gorgeous sunny afternoons this past week or so. Our garden got a "haircut" last weekend and in two more weeks I think we'll start planting some veggies!
