Our first RV Trip is behind us!

We had a great time! Due to other commitments our RV sat in our driveway 6 days before we were able to hit the road. It worked out well because the 4 of us spent a lot of time in it before we left so the boys were perfectly comfortable in it.

Or first trip was to Big Spring, Texas. Nothing worth seeing for us but it is 250 miles and about 4 1/2 hours away.

I wasn't able to get a baby gate as Ron suggested so we put a table next to me to block the guys, they seemed to accept it. They took turns laying next to Mom all the way out and back. We didn't put the table up on the way back and they seemed to have gotten the message and kept clear of me.

At a rest stop Dex decided it was his turn to drive, Winston was sure he could navigate

Once we got to the RV park Dexter took his guard responsibilities very seriously (actually, he jumped in that seat as soon as Robin got up each time)

Winston wanted to guard a little but Dex had to point out he was still too young (notice the arm around his shoulder)

They are quality control for dinner prep even in the RV

We can't wait for our next trip!

Great to hear the maiden voyage was a success!!! Look forward to seeing more reports from the highways and byways in the future!

Vance
It looks like they have their routines all worked out!! :D
Glad everything went well and everyone enjoyed themselves. Now you can work up to a trip to Niagara Falls for the Sheepdog Shindig in May. Doesn't that sound like fun?
Niagra in May would be fun. My family is from Upstate New York and I haven't been there since my grandmother's funeral in 1973 Time to go back!

Where exactly in Upstate are you from Vance?
:clappurple: Glad the first trip went great! Looks like everyone had a great time!

I was a week behind and thought you were picking her up today :headbang: Just told my husband we'd be following your adventures soon! Sooner than I thought :clappurple:

So happy that it went well. The trip looked pretty smooth thanks to all the sheepie help 8) Obviously you did well maneuvering it :clappurple: :clappurple:

Cute pics of the boys, the arm over Winston is priceless :hearts: Seems normal to see Dexter riding shotgun, Charm claims it too

Will look forward to your next adventure. It would be amazing to meet everyone in May :crossed:
Great pictures! I don't think that I have seen the inside of an RV in decades, they have obviously gone very upscale-that kitchen is nicer than the one I have in my house!
Mark - My parents were raised in Waverly. After WWII my dad bought a farm near Rhome but went back in the military for Korea and stayed for a career. Most of the family is still in that general area.
WAY TO GO! We are thinking of attempting a trip with our OES but he doesn't ride in the car well and since our trailer is a Boler we aren't sure how sleeping will work. We removed the kitchen inside to add another bed so there may be a total of 3x4 foot floor space. Not the luxury RV your dogs are enjoying that's for sure-LOL
Our guys are very good travelers. We started them out gradually; short errands then slowly lengthening the rides. They both drooled a lot at first then that stopped. They are both veteran road warriors now and can do 10 hour drive days without issue.

We listen to them and if one starts to squeak or gets restless, meaning a pee break is needed, we stop, just like we would for one of us.
What is a RV ?
RV stands for Recreational Vehicle, and is a motorhome, fifth wheel or trailer. I believe your term would be "caravan" but I could be wrong.
Looks like a great first trip! Dex and Winston look like they have established their routine! :D
Are those granite countertops in the kitchen? A two-door fridge? I guess an "RV" has evolved a lot since old VW campervans! :D

Great pictures of the boys, I love the one with Dex's leg around Winston. :hearts:
We bought them a "yard" yesterday; 32' of portable fence. My idea is to put it in a circle around the door so when they want out they can just step out the door without leashes. When we want to socialize outside it can be made into a circle and they don't have to be restrained by leashes then either. We're not sure how it will work out but are eager to try it.

Our next trip was to Boise in about 2 weeks but we decided that was too ambitious with all the winter weather yet to come between here and there. We will delay about a month and take a couple overnight trips between now and then.
I think the countertops are Corian. The color makes them look a lot like granite.

The fridge is a 4-door; 2 doors to the fridge and 2 to the freezer, that way we can get in both when the slide is in.
I'd love to see more pics of your rv, looks gorgeous! :)
