I love atlas for a boy...
Atlas

Valentine is a mouthful. A good decisive name is better, one with sharp sounds so they learn it quickly. Valentine is a good coooing name "Oh XXX you are my little valentine. " Cupid??
I like Atlas, great name.
Any more names would help please
I like Atlas too.
Lassen (stretch of a combo of Valentine & Atlas), Tino or Lenny (from Valentino), Dewey, Titan, Dompe, Dooley, Drake....
Is there any theme you or the breeder are going with?
No
Awww they sound adorable

The list of names I made when waiting for 'Bloo' :

Obie
Odie
Digger
Crash
Checkers
Yoshi
Spyro
Bandit
Maze
Buster
Flash
Bolt
Sonic
Zak
But I didn't come up with the name until a day after we had him...its a long story. Bloo was called 'Dog until I decided

I also like Atlas, Cupid sounds more like a boy name than

Hope you agree on a name soon! Not long to go
I laughed when you said you called Bloo "Dog" for awhile. Todd still calls Bond "Puppy" half the time!!
Avoid Bandit. Love the name, but it's been done to death.

Yoshi also too recognizable as another OES. Ali has a Checkers, so may want to avoid that.

Also be careful of names that describe things you may not want to live with such as Crash and Digger as dogs do seem to become what you name them (hi, Sybil! :-) )

Love Sonic and even Zak. Atlas seems like a nice name. Certainly distinct.

I find that puppies normally name themselves. If you don't mind calling the puppy 'puppy' until name comes to you. And you manage to wean yourselves to using the new name when you do ;-)

I agree that puppies name themselves. Our Pooh Bear was a surprise gift for me. I took one look at him, held him in my arms and said "you look like a Pooh Bear". He was Pooh, or Bear alot. When Angus came into our lives at 1 year old, we thought about renaming him Gus, but looked at him and said the name "Angus" suited him more.
Atlas is a nice regal name. Eros is a greek word synonymous (in crosswords) for love or cupid.

This is one of my fav threads, naming the puppy :excited: :excited:

I dodged the bullet with Chewie...luckily I got the "hairy loyal warrior" part, not the destroying shoes and furniture definition! Of course making sure I spelled it the Chewbacca way (I looked it up on a Star Wars site, just to make sure!), and NOT the Chewy (chewing) way, might have been what saved me. ;)
haha...what lola wants...lola gets...sigh...right there with you....

if we had a boy, i would have named him Havoc........
John and I are both kind of funny about our pups names. We only want them to have "human" names. LOL
In 36 years of marrige- we've had:

Ginger- Minature Collie- rescue
Katie- Aussie -- puppy from Sissy- the dog we grew up with
Zach- Collie- resuce
Lance- Aussie- another one of Sissy's pups
Corrie- OES--
Max- OES

The collies were handfuls! Aussies will always have my heart. But our Sheepies... oh the sheepies. <3

And I just realized my post is WAY off topic...I seriously doubt you want to name your puppy any that I have listed.
looks like its going to be at battle at home naming this pup.:(
There are some really good names suggested.........but if I'd of had a boy, I would of called him Wordsworth. When I was little there was a cartoon called "Jamie and the Magic Torch" (oh goodness, Im showing my age now!!!) there was a sheepie in that called Wordsworth!!
I love Atlas... so much now that I think I'd name my own pup that if hubby approved.
I picked up a cat yesterday that was an owner turn in and after I drove away from our meeting place, I realized I did not ask her his name. At the vets office where I brought him immediately after picking kitty up , they asked me for his name and I said Joey. Sometimes names just pop in your head and you know it's right.

I like the name Atlas
I like Cupid but not crazy about Valentine as I'd find it too difficult to say easily.

I like people names like Archie, George, Fred...Bam Bam would be cute. (Okay that's not a people name but the name Fred triggered that thought). :O)

Good luck with the names and keep us posted.
We are going on Sunday to look at the puppies so we will have a better idea for a name. Georgi is going to get a trim for Crufts. I have seen the pups via skype but not in person & Lori has seen zip. So cannot wait :excited: :excited: :excited: :yay: :yay:
I finally decided on Bristol for my first OES's name. I'm a NASCAR fan and it's my 2nd favorite track (Richmond is first favorite but I didn't like it as a name) Plus Bristol is an Old English city right.. or British I guess but still...

I'd go with Atlas, love that name for a boy too.
For a girl? All I thought of with Bristol is Bristol Palin. :D
I don't like car racing at all, so I have never heard of the place you mentioned....

Geoff's 2nd Sheepie was called Wordsworth by his boys even though she was a girl :-)

If (as we hope) we get a 2nd puppy this year as a playmate for Cloud I would love to call her Tallula

Agghhhh, I was afraid of that!! :?

MY Bristol will be a boy though, lol Agility Star, not Dancing with the Stars
If anyone gets a chance to get a puppy from these wonderful people. They are kind honest and one of the best people I will ever meet. Pauline and Colin Barnes . Macopa is the kennel name. A few people own sheepies from them on this site.

They certainly are, I've known them for years and years. Cubbie's (named so for a Scottish basket) dad was a Macopa dog - going back years now - Macopa Pushed Too Far, if memory serves me.

I like the name Atlas, its different, unique and a lovely name - however, you may change your mind when you pick up your fella.

Strangely enough - Dad and I went through the Atlas to get Esher's name as we name ours after places in England/UK.
Well after seeing the final two & then we confirmed today on the one we want as we are going to show him we had to look at the whole package & after a good talk with Colin and Pauline so it was down to the last one. Lori did like one ear as it was more of a chocolate box looking puppy & he was very nice looking and all of the pups were great. Two ears was bigger & moved well & there was not a lot between them. Two ears was bit more out going than one ear. So two rears is our new puppy ( not the puppy name). My two choices are Atlas & Spirit (as he has a lot of it after seeing him)
Does he have a official kennel name?
Not yet
Thought the kennel name would help with the call name.
Only 5 days to go. I have my two choices. Spirt and Atlas and Lori has Teddy and still one more. In fairness we are having two names each and when we arrive at Pauline and Colin we are going to use a hat or bowl put the for names in and get Pauline or Colin to pick one out and that will be his name. I think that is a fair way. If you have any other fair ideas your welcome to add them in and we still have no breed name yet
And if he is like Archie I will be happy as he is a Macopa as well
Rufus is Archies half brother

Shouldn't you be getting some rest for the weeks ahead?
4 days to go
