Road Trip- Advice for Pet Friendly Hotels

We are going to Florida the first of March ( two weeks :clappurple: ) and driving this year, so we can take Max with us. We will be traveling 75 all the way-- and are looking for suggestions for pet friendly accomodations. I've looked on line, but thought I would ask you guys as well. It will pretty much be a "stop for the night, up early" kind of stay...

All La Quintas are pet friendly and do not charge extra for pets.

Most Residence Inns allow pets but they charge $100/stay for pets.

Some Hamtpon Inns allow pets, a few charge $25/stay.

We are "Road Warriors" with our dogs and are still learning.
All Red Roof Inns are pet friendly, too.
BTW, we are on our second 3,200 mile trip with the boys since Nov. We have been on several others from a couple hundred to a couple thousand miles. They travel well but each trip are a little nervous the first night in a hotel with all the added sounds they aren't used to. I think they are more thrilled to get back home than we are.
Max has traveled with us once to Florida. He was so good, we almost forgot he was with us! He loves to lay in the back of the CRV... gets up and looks around once in a while, and lays back down. He adores riding in a car. :D The only time he seemed a bit nervous was when Mommy was driving through Atlanta during rush hour. I thnk he would have prefered Daddy at the wheel... I know Mommy would have...

We can't remember where we stayed the last trip when traveling with Max... but we do remember not being impressed with the condition of the room... :|
We love the La Quinta chains too. Clean, friendly to pets, and usually close to interstate ramps. Have a great trip!
We've stayed in both La Quinta and Best Western with dogs and cats.
We like the La Quinta Inns too. Have also had very nice stays at the Drury Hotels. They do not charge a pet fee either.

Have fun on your trip!
A vacation?!!! That sounds so heavenly!! What a treat to let Max come to! You deserve a break!
As mentioned - the LaQuintas, Drury's and Red Roofs are pet friendly and don't charge pet fees - at least all the one's I've been to. I know all the Red Roofs don't for sure.
La Quintas are where we usually stop on our road trips to Arizona. Drury is the usual motel for Sheepiepalooza. Both have worked out well for us.
We also recommend La Quinta Inns. We stayed in one during the hurricane and not only did they allow dogs, and not charge extra, but they were reasonably priced and very clean. Our only complaint was the one we were in didn't have a Bar! But they did have a nice continental breakfast....
