Willoughby

:D I would like to introduce Willoughby, 2 months old, male, with a white head, black back and left rear paw. I adopted him on the weekend from a very caring breeder in Nelson, BC. She provided me with photos, and a video of a previous litter and we were in touch by telephone and email during the six weeks preceeding his adoption. He is a sweetheart: slept all night last night, his second night in his new home. My cats are upset, but the elder, Edwina, sneaks downstairs to have a look at him. Percival, the younger is very upset and requires emotional support and catnip to sooth his feelings! I have an electronic photo of Willoughby, but have no idea how to post it! :D :D

Oh Lynda,
Willowby is just Gorgeous!
Oh my goodness! He's sooooo cute!! Great name for a sheepie, too!
Perfect OES pup. He's posing for the camera already!
SO CUTE! :D
I think's it safe to say that Old English Sheepdogs are the cutest breed!
:D Hi again: Willoughby is not only cute, he's pretty good: he has slept through two nights now: 11PM to 530AM. After breakfast, he loves to tear up and down the length of lawn next to my flower beds. He has also discovered that a bed of thyme makes a great resting place! I have decided to buy a digital camera so I can keep up with his antics and post. Now all I have to do is figure out how all this electronic stuff fits together! :?
He is gorgeous :D What a wonderful addition to your family.
Willoughby is just TOO cute! What a ham for the camera!

So we have another dirt lover in our midst! Can't wait to hear more about his antics and see more pics!

Chris
Willoughby is far too cute for his own good. LOL No wonder you are so proud of him, he is adorable. I love his pic, he looks very pleased with himself.
I am so envious of you, we still have 10 days to go before we get to bring our new baby home. Guess I'll just have to make do watching you and Willoughby for now.
May you have many long happy years together.

 Well we have completed our first two weeks together. Willoughby continues to astound me with his brilliance.I have bought puppy training books, two by Stanley Coren from Vancouver. Very interesting discussion of how to communicate with dogs and what their language means. Willoughby is learning English and I'm learning "doglish". He's having a nap at my study door as I write. He likes to nap when I'm working. He now has several toys and a red leash with paw prints that glow in the dark. He's so sweet. He loves to be cuddled and tickled!

He is making friends with Edwina, my Maine Coon cat who has taken a maternal interest in him (from a safe distance) Percival who was the house baby before Willoughby's arrival will at least join us at night in my bedroom as W. sleeps in his crate at the foot of the bed, and the cats on top of the bed with me.

My work takes me to the Lower Mainland at least twice a month and I've found a reliable puppy sitter to stay at my house while I'm away. Needless to say, I don't want to go away at all in case I miss something. Also, I call at least once per day and then drive home as soon as possible when my work is done (6 hours at least over the montains!)

It's so nice to be able to write all this and know that other Sheep Dog parents will read it. We will have adventures down the road, but this time is precious as we're getting to know one another. Cheers, Everyone. Lynda :D
Your new puppy looks so amazingly calm and gentle.
Willoughby is absolutely beautiful!

Congrats!

:D Hi all: I've been busy with work and a short medical leave. Willoughby is growing and full of curiosity about everything. He's learning to walk like a gentleman on his leash and not to lunge at people or cars passing on the street. He loves to play in the garden and actually fetches his ball! My other two sheepies never retrieved anything. He loves to ride in the car, and jumps in and out himself. He rides in the back on a quilt with his harness attached to the rear seat. We go for several walks a day when it's cool.

On the weekend we walked in the woods above my house and he tracked a bear! We found his paw prints and decided our expedition had gone far enough so we retreated for water and biscuits. 8)

I'm away right now in Vancouver for a few days at work and I have a puppy sitter at home to look after him. He and the cats are getting along well and they are edging closer. I take him on his leash to say good morning and good night to them. He sleeps all night and has only a few accidents when I miss his signals. He's a treasure!

Cheers, Lynda alias Willoughby's Mom. :)
I love the stories! Keep them coming -- with more pictures, please. Willoughby is adorable.
It sounds like everything is going wonderfully. Good for you and all of your furries!!!!! Yes more pics please!
Lynda-

I'm so glad for you and Willoughby :D It sounds like things are going well and everyone is happy.
Great news! :)
