What do you wear at Crufts?!

Im still on the hunt for an outfit to wear for Crufts...
I know you have to be smart but casual as you have to be able to run, but i dont know what to wear.
I dont want to look old, i still want something modern and young.
I dont like low cut t shirts.
Im NOT wearing a skirt or a dress, so would have to be trousers.

:plead: Any ideas :plead:

I have a few ideas but idont know if they would be suitable for a dog show...

IDEA 1
A white blouse with a black waistcoat/vest, with black skinny jeggings and flats.

IDEA 2
A brown suede shirt with tassles, dark blue/black pair of trousers and ankle boots.

:lmt: :lmt: :lmt:

Edited : Bloos almost done, just have to get a good shampoo and his boots, its just me :( What do I wear!!??

Hmmm, maybe the shirt from the first idea combined with the pants and boots from your second idea? unless they look silly together, then I'd just go with the second idea.

I feel like jeggings are a bit too casual.
Go look on youtube and see what they were wearing during the last couple years at Crufts... This should give you a VERY good direction.

Vance
Val or Mel will be able to give advice. They do Crufts every year.

Thats a nice suit :-)

I don't really want to wear them type of trousers I used to wear for school as they are itchy and sweaty. Would a canvas style be okay ?
No tassels. They will jiggle and move and bounce and you'll look like a stripper.
The lasses are usually in a dress type trouser . I know what you mean about itchy :) .I'm a jeans person and don't usually wear dress trousers. If the canvas trouser is smart ,and don't look like jeans, I would say yes.
Sam if you go to this site ther is some more photos of OES with owner at Crufts and you can see what they are wearing

Ive picked an outfit :D
Either the black with pink trouser, or pink with black trouser.
When your on the web link click the black coloured square by the pic and itll show ytou the other coplour. (Id wear the black st out so you wouldnt see the top the the trousers. They are more of a shiny material rather than a jean.

I know some may think its too "fashion" but its light weight, comfy and smart casual. I dont want to look old in blazers. I really like these.
I like the black top and pink trousers. I think im going with this. :clappurple:
I like it! It's okay to be fashionable, just don't detract from how awesome your dog is! Still classy, but also lets you look young :)
Looks Good :)
The black top w/ pink pants looks good.
And most of the hair that comes off Bloo will be on you pants, so the pink will hide it FAR better than black! Great choice!

Vance
I like it! And I agree with Dawn and Vance; both looks are really nice, but I think the pink pants with black top is the one I prefer. I like the idea that the dog hair will show up less on the pink pants, but the black top also looks like it would appear less shear than the pink top, and sometimes sheer tops can come across as less professional looking.
Plus the pink pants will set Bloo off nicely-makes for a lovely contrast with his colouring.

This is what I wore last year
jacket pinky colour , troursers a dark plum ,under blouse dark plum .shoes dark plum
Only suggestion is "Dont Wear BROWN" it's not a complimentry colour with OES. under lights inside as well can make the dog look brownish on the greys at the ends.

Try a semi-tailored looks always looks nice and a colour that compliments your dog.

I've worn skirts but I prefer nice tailored slacks with a nice shirt or top and when colder a nice blazer. Someone said to me years ago pick a colour combination that stands out avoid black and navy as every bit of fluff shows up on you. Yes wore a black suit and jacket and came out of the ring hairer then the dog :x

Slacks/trousers also look good with trendy flats or even nice runners for galavanting around the ring while showing when warmer just a nice shirt or top and when cooler a nice blazer. One of my favourite ones was dusty pink trousers, same in the flat slip on shoes, cream shirt short sleeved that had embroided in dusty pink and blue across the front lil field mice, very beatrix potter style in the emboidery. Worn that a lot and complimented the dog and in our warmer weather and was semi-tailored/smart and comfortable for showing in and complimented against the dog too in the ring.

Best wishes for crufts and most important have fun on the day with the whole experience. :ghug: .

Mom looked stunning last year as the colours suited her and worked well with Lincoln.

Sam, I would personally advise you not to wear a white top as Bloo has a white head the two will merge into one. I have a similar problem with Esher has she has markings I cant wear black or grey as we merge together. Whatever you decide ensure its comfy, doesnt crease and you are happy with it. Another suggestion would be - whatever you decide to wear practice one day in the house and pretend or do put Bloo in the show position, run round the room etc - do you clothes stay where they are? i.e. do the top of the straps fall down etc. May sound silly but its important.

One year I wore my velvet purple suit - I loved it, but I had lost a bit of weight and so my trousers were falling down as I was moving Tia - So I was moving Tia and holding on to my clothes for dear life!!

Oh and can you run in your shoes!! Another important factor. I personally would prefer to run in bare feet but there we go.

I've worked out my jacket, top, shoes and socks, but need to think about trousers....

I agree with Val. you will need a jacket also you need to be smart as well. If your dog is the same as the other dog or close. This is team work and if you both look good then you will have a better chance unless the judge has made up his/her mind six weeks before, which does happen just like 2011 LKA and a few other shows. Not trying to put you off but a lot of the judges cheat and I have not being showing that long but some judges are great. Dogs are like us they could have a bad hair day or have a strop.
Don,t forget to get your hair done as well I am suprised that you ladies have not pointed that out. Perfume but not too strong and last a good smile
