Boarding kennels and breeders

Okay, I was looking at a page of a boarding kennel because I was thinking of applying for a job there (which I decided not to), and I noticed on their map of the kennel, there's a 'breeding wing'. I thought it was a little weird!
Here's their map:

The people who run the kennel are samoyed breeders who live in a house on the property. I'm just wondering why there would be a section in the building dedicated to breeding. I get that you need to have a place for the mother to have her puppies and whatnot, but is that what a 'breeding wing' is? I've never seen such a thing before. I thought people would keep their dogs in the house with them.

I called to talk to the woman about the job, she was very rude in a mean way on the phone, and that's why I decided not to apply there.

Some of your bigger kennels (not many reputable ones of them around anymore) would need to have an area for this very reason. When it comes to breeding & whelping you want it happening in a place that is a bit quieter than the normal boarding kennel area. Depends on the size of the kennel also. If they are whelping litters a few weeks apart they can't keep them all in their house.
Do you have their name, or their kennel name? I have LOTS of Samoyed friends, and could check their reputability out pretty quickly .
I do, Dawn! I will message it to you.

Marilyn, that does make sense! I just never hear of any breeders who would be making enough puppies to need something like that.

Got it and checking.

Also one reason for separate - is preventing spreading of disease. If they have boarders and grooming, they would not want their gestating bitches and young pups exposed.

But sadly, not that many reputable breeders do breeding on that scale that a big building is needed just for that purpose. So it does put up some warning flags.
They may also be called Sno N' Sho. They *seem* alright from what I saw on the internet, but of course the internet isn't always reliable.
They are basically OK. I'm sending you a message, Jade.
Okay!
