PEEING ON THE CARPET

Yesterday morning, I let Panda in the house, fed her breakfast, brewed my coffee and walked to my next door neighbors house for our Sunday morning coffee chat. We sit on her front patio, which you can see from our front side bedroom window. Panda of course was doing the one eyed peek through the blinds, but not barking...Brian comes home from the fire station, walks into the house. Not finding Panda, he walks into the bedroom, Panda turns away from the window, cocks her head, and piddles right in front of him...Brian said it was the biggest #@$%& you he had ever seen..She knew exactly what she was doing!!! Brian then preceded to come over to our coffee time and tell me that it was all my fault that Panda piddled...I was teasing her...I just wanted her in the house, out of the heat...I didnt mean to lead her on, and I never thought to close the door to the bedroom, as she has never done this before... bad mommy moment or subborn sheepie moment, Im not sure..I only wish I could have seen the look on Brians face :D

If only we knew what went on in their furry little heads!!! You can second guess til the cows come home and never really know, Panda may not even know!!!
Not long after Cassie came to live with us...she's a rescue...Brodman out of the blue walks over to Cassie's comforter (cute pink Laura Ashley...I didn't have any girls  ) & tinkles BIG TIME. Wow was I shocked 8O He had not done something in the house since he was 6 months old..he also is a rescue!
My guess is Brodman was just #@$%&!\ but what 4...who knows! It has never happened again! I was there watching & let out a giant human yelp that shook the windows 8O
Just make sure you get the smell out with Nature's Miracle or whatever you use!
Diane...it's not the mama's fault
Lennon's usually a very well behaved doggie. When we bough our house, he was very stressed because he could not find his place, and was going trough the adolescent stage.

One day he was being more stubborn than usual and I wanted to take him out to the yard. He stood there looking at me in a challenging way and then he let it all out on the new carpet. Grrr.... I let him have it right after that so he knew who was boss. After that incident, only one more pee accident in the house, but that was our fault.

I guess all sheepies have their stubborn moments... I wish I knew what they are thiking.
This must be a pee week/day. Clyde took a huge whiz on the deck-- which he hasn't done since he was a puppy. Then he did a number 2 by the back door about an hour ago. I love how he picks my migraine days to do this. Then again, maybe that's why.
Yeah for pee day!! Is it a full moon? I really am surprised that she peed in the house...she only made 3 mistakes as a puppy...but the big question is why on the rug and NOT on the wood floors??!! She might be going thru her teen years (19 months old)...and I thought I was over with my step kids.....................sigh............................
Both of my dogs have always been partial to the carpet.

Lol. Panda only had 3 accidents as a puppy? I was happy when my little dummy only had 3 in one day!
Well, I should say that she only had 3 boo-boo's at home, but since I took her everywhere with me, she had a lot of boo-boo's at other peoples homes  I think it took her a while to figure out that it was not good to pee inside other peoples homes.. But really she was the perfect potty trained dog....I also took her out every 15-20 minutes, and stayed outside until she piddled..it took 2 weeks
Bem also had an accident (on purpose) today, the first in a long time. I think he was expressing his dissappointment in his first professional grooming this morning. To make a long story short, the groomer told me, very politely, never to return.

Ben says that suits him just fine. LOL
Bens mom....that is so funny, it made me smile...never to return, huh?
I find it amusing that we are able to laugh at our embarrassing dogs, but cringe at our embarrassing kids.................
Speaking of peeeeeeeeeeeeeeee................. Ty learned how to lift his leg to pee this week. It's the funniest thing I ever saw, a 3 lb dog lifting his leg to pee on a blade of grass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sad part is that poor Tasker still doesn't lift his leg, he looks at Ty like "what the heck are you doing"
Actually, I would prefer if the boys didn't bother lifting their legs........and the shrubs would too.

No peeing in the house for awhile..........thankfully.

Wonder if it has anything to do with putting carpet in the whelping box after their arrival???

I always put indoor/outdoor carpet in mine to keep the puppies from sliding while learning to walk. Afterwards, I put in something easier to clean.

Either way, it was the flooring of my choice, and not grass. So, maybe it remains a bit confusing to them. Although, I know they do it out of spite as well!!! Little critters are wayyyyyyyy too smart.

If they could talk they'd probably tell us, "Would you make up your mind!"
We have this problem: because of his leg Beau has trouble with steps so we take him through the garages to the back yard. Somedays being better than others he can't always get to the yard so we let him pee/poop on the driveway. We had to beg him to do this because he hates not going in the yard. Stubborn boy that he is he resists using the driveway...we are just trying to help his pain level by not making him walk all that way
Boo for Pee Day! :(
Barney has been so much better lately. But last night he was calmly (for Barney) sitting on his blanket in the living room getting lots of pets (and we put his hair in a sumo ponytail so we were taking pictures) and then he started to get excited and wanted to look for the cats. Since I saw that he was getting riled up I thought I would take him outside.
So, I call him and say, Barney, wanna go out? And he looks at me like, Yes I do! but he won't come to me and just run from one side of the room to the other, avoiding me and my fiance and then stops on his blanket, stares at my fiance and PEES. Boy, were we mad.
Does anyone know why he would be doing this? It only seems to be on the carpet/blanket in the living room (not always in the same location, though). Do you think the blanket could feel similar to the pine needles he goes on outside?
We'd really like to get this solved because he is great (well...) in the kitchen on the tile, but almost every time he is on carpet, he'll pee, which makes it hard for us because we still can't trust him.
*SIGH*
Barney1, I have no idea what to tell you....it sounds just like what Panda did on Sunday...........WHY??? Well, wish me luck...I left Panda in the house today. It's just too hot outside...its supposed to be 112 today..Brian is at work and I'm working until 5....I hope she can hold it....I told her this morning before I left that I was going to try to trust her again....we'll seeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
Funny everyone was having a pee day. Momo JUST peed on the carpet today! She has been acting all crudy since her spay (like she is in one of her hissy moods - only longer)... I took her outside to pee... then she comes inside... and PEES on my floor! *strangle - well - not really* She hasn't had an accident in forever, but it just happened... and I have no idea why she did that. Well, back to less freedom and more crate time I suppose until she figures it out... again. :?
There's some canine magic about a soft surface... One night last week Bailey was throwing up (apparently he finally ate something that disagreed with him). He was laying on the tile floor. Every time he got queasy, he would look at me, get up, walk over to the carpet, and puke. When I blocked his access to the carpet he went over to a drop cloth that we had in the kitchen and puked on that. Had to walk past a lot of perfectly good tile to get from the carpet to the drop cloth! I'm not sure what they're thinking but apparently they all think the same way!
Well, I just wanted everyone to know that when I got home from work Panda had not peed!!! She was the PERFECT puppy :D I let her out, she did her thing and looked at me as if to say "See, I can be good and not pee inside.......when I want to!" Im glad I had her inside all day...it got up to 112.......summers here!
YEAH PANDA!!!!
112! Yipes! Can you cool it off for this weekend?
Sheepieboss, whats the temp by you? today is supposed to be 113....Im sooooo hot...its 10 am right now and I think the temp is 95 right now....I hate being cold, but anything over 100 is really just too hot!! But Id rather be too hot than too cold...I dont know how I grew up in MI
You guys are killing me.............. if it hits 80 or above here I WILT!!!!!!!!!
I am wilted!!!!! Its sooo hot, you really dont want to do anything but sleep.. Speaking of which, my little lamby decided to start barking at 5:45 this morning and I couldnt fall back asleep..........
Just an interesting observation...Pee Day was also the day before a full moon, so maybe there was some weird cosmic connection going on there... 8O
I can live with the temps over 110 - it's the summer electric bills that make me wilt! I prefer the summer AZ heat over the cold Chicago winters :D
Jasper had an accident (in his kennel!) the other day. That's the first one he's had in a looong time.

It's been miserable here too. In the 90s with nearly or above 80% humidity. Right now, it's 9:50 and it's 77 with 78% humidity. You can barely breath when it gets that humid, and when you go outside, you feel sticky & need a shower (even if you just had one). I'm ready for fall!
I guess I'm a true "upstate new yorker" Give me snow and ice any day over 90 degrees% with a 66 % humidity!!!!!
I can't get a routine at all with Tag...he LIKES to pee anywhere and at anytime. Kitchen is gated, and it doesn't matter to him, he just won't hold it.

I do give him alot of credit for our camping trip tho, we were all confined to our small trailer, hye and Remy were confined to a blanket ( not allowed anywhere else)...he held it until I let him out and he promptly peed.

Our kitchen should be a place of holding it, he eats, sleeps there and it's not bigger than the trailer. Altho this is where he spent the first 7 weeks until I moved the group outside for the last 2 weeks...I suppose it is in his mind an acceptable place to go. So many times he pees from excitement too...I've totally given up on housebreaking, I'm too lazy and it's been nice enough at night for him to sleep outside...I honestly think he prefers it. Our kitchen faces west and gets super hot during the late afternoons and isn't cooled off before bed.

He also thumps his foot against the door to make it rattle, it's very loud down in the basement where I sleep. He gets lots of praise and occasionally a treat to go outside...and I do ignore all accidents in house. I just expect him to realize our kitchen is not his bathroom, nor is the carpets laying in the kitchen/deck too.
