Cancer lump or just an infection?
But yesterday i discovered a lump in the same place. If you pick up the top gum and feel, you can feel it from both sides, it feels almost like a small ball inside the skin/gum. Ive been stressing myself out thinking its cancer, but mom thinks its just an abses or infection build up. Its not soft its rock ha inside. We are hoping to get him checked out later by a vet, or tomorrow (wheneever they can fit us in) Hopefully its not serious.. |

| Sounds like an abcess to me too. I'm glad you are going to have it checked out by a veterinarian. |
| Hey Sam, I'm sure it's just an abcess, especially since it's been an open wound- infection can easily get in there especially around the mouth and even after antibiotics. Rufus had a lump on his back removed a couple months ago. It was about the size of a pea, but stuck up out of the skin like a mole. They tested it and it WAS cancer, however, the vet thinks he got all of it out so fingers and paws crossed it shouldn't return!  |
| Is it at the exact same spot where the wound was? If it is, could it just be scar tissue? |

| Quick update: Just got back from vets. She said its either an absess or an ingrowing hair. She said it could also be a skin growth but they are rare in the mouth area. She has given bloo more antibiotics, if they dont work then they will have to take sample test if its an absess then theyll have to remove it, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in  So glad its not cancer lol i can relax now... |
