Christmas table--what color chargers?

My tablecloth is solid red with a pointsettia design, almost like embossed. My dishes are white with silver snowflakes (they were my mom's). I have green chargers or silver chargers to go under the plates. Which should I use? Napkins are red.

Have 2 parties, and use each!

OK, is there any green elsewhere? Centerpiece, etc?

If you can work some green in, then green is my choice.
If no other green then go w/ silver. I just have concerns with losing the charger and plates, and then napkins on the tablecloth. But maybe they do stand out ok? Hard to say without seeing them.
My first instinct is the silver, but put both out to test put what looks best in the room. Each room light omes in diggerntly so you might like the green better.
first thought is silver...but green would show up nicely on the red table cloth
Without pictures, I'd go with the silver. IMO, chargers are just placeholders to accent the real focus, the plates.
I bet it would be stunning with navy blue table linens, too.
I agree we need pictures to visualize better but I'd say silver.
silver would show the dirt or a splash
I choose silver, just because fewer colors tend to be a bit
classier IMO. Green would certainly look nice too but I think
less color makes the food the star of attention. JMHO tho-

I thought silver first, but green is fine too. If you are rolling in the $$$, they make mirrored chargers. Is there no other green on the table? Chargers aren't that expensive, try both, alternating them?

Neither picture turned out well. I decided to go with the silver charger. I'm going to make silver napkin rings out of silver scrapbook paper. They should good with the red napkins.
How many place settings?? I would use both if there were at least 4 :D
I had a completely different picture of your tablecloth, not total red but white with red poinsettias. Nor did I have the plates correct, LOL! It will be a merry table!
I agree, I would go with the silver. Your table cloth is very pretty.
Yep, silver
Glad we got a pic and I too had a different pic of what your tablecloth looked like! Yay for silver
Paula, I understood exactly what your tablecloth looked like!! :D
I decided to wrap the red napkins with silver ribbon.

Why am I doing all this for 3 people, and our dinner is pigs in a blanket??? :D :D :D
I love to have a formal table at the holidays. Really the only time I use my china. I have my china from 40 yrs ago and then I have 6 place settings from my grandmother's set, she married in 1904, that when I lived at home my Mom used every holiday. So I rotate using each set at the holidays.
Am I the only one who didn't know what you meant by "chargers"? lol

(I do now, I looked it up.... just never heard that term before)
Green does make the plate pop more though... more contrast with the red table cloth. All very festive and pretty.
