i'm new to the forum!

Hello everyone who is in love with an OES!

We have our 2nd OES. He is 8 1/2 yrs old and is just the most adorable creature!
Our first OES was bought on a whim from a pet shop about 30 yrs ago. She may of had no champion bloodlines, but MARTHA had a heart of gold and a temperament I can only envy. WHen she passed on, I had some time replacing her. (she was 9 before my first child was born) It took almost 10 yrs before I was able to bring myself to even look at another pup.
When we did, it was love at first sight. This time from a very reputable breeder (we had to fit her qualifications) we bought a beautiful little boy and called him MURPHY.
Life is full of ups and downs but the one constant is the love of your dog.
Murphy seems to know when someone is upset and just loves you unconditionaly. How lucky we are to have him.
My children are now off to university and Murphy and I miss them terribly.
I have begun a new career after being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years.
I am loving every minute of it but hours are long and there are times I feel quite guilty for leaving Murph as long as I have. I am sure he must
feel quite lonely with everyone away. I have decided to join this forum
to chat about one of those we love most, my beloved MURPHY.
be back again JOAN

Joan and Murphy!!

Welcome to the forum!! I loved reading your post. It is nice that you have the wonderful memories of Martha. I know even 9 years later how much you must miss her.
Murphy sounds a lot like my Jack. He also seems to know exactly how we are feeling, and through his facial and body movements, I know how he feels as well. Annabelle is our silly girl, she is happy all the time. She just kind of bounces around all the time, ready to play. :D
I am also a stay-at-home Mom of almost 8 years. I love it, and I can say with confidence that it is and will be my career choice for many years to come.
We look forward to hearing more about you and Murphy and again......WELCOME TO THE FORUM!! :D

Hi Joan and Martha,

Welcome! I loved reading your introduction, your memories of Martha and your boy Murphy. I guess you know that Paul McCarney also had an OES whom he named Martha and even wrote a song about, titled Martha My Dear. I was lucky that for Christmas my boyfriend bid on a photo of the Beatles with Martha on ebay!! It came with a print out of the words to the song, should you're ever interested in them I can post them at OES for you.

I know you'll love it here..lots of info and friendly people!

Welcome to sheepie central!! Cant wait to see pictures of Murphy!
Welcome, Joan and Murphy! Be prepared to become addicted to this site, because even after owning (or should I say - being owned by) sheepies for 26 years, I'm still learning new things!

Looking forward to pictures!

Chris
Joan & Murphy, welcome to the forum.
Like Drezzie's Mom said, it can be addicting. Lots of nice people here and good advice.
Our guy is Mojo. He is 5 1/2 months old. It took us almost 20 years before we could get another sheepdog after loosing our first. He's alway been with us though. They get into your heart and never leave. After working in special ed for 13 years, I now "stay home" (ha) and take care of my handicapped son, my ageing parents and my mother-in-law. (no, we're not all under one roof!). My mom thought I was crazy taking on more responsibility, but he gives more than she'll ever know.
A very belated welcome Joan and Murphy :D We lost our Flash nine years ago as well, in fact I just planted some new flowers on his grave. They have a way of getting into your heart and never letting go. I'm looking forward to pictures and Murphy stories. Give your boy a big belly rub from Daisy and the boys.
Another belated welcome to Joan and Murphy!! My children has also grown and gone 9one still in college). I took care of my empty nest by getting another puppy :D !!! This forum is a great place to be whether you have lots of time or only a litlle time to check in quick. We all look forward to PICTURES!!!!!!
Welcome Joan and Murphy!
