Searching for TN OES

Hi, we have been researching rescues and shelters for an OES in the southeast. We live close to Nashville and have had no luck in our area..
We have a 2 year old Doberman, and a 7 year old Mini Schnauzer so we're looking for an OES that does well with other pups. Age and gender don't matter to us, as long as they are good around people and dogs. Any info on pups that would fit into our family, please let me know!

Also, does anyone know if rescues or shelters will meet you half way to pick up a dog? I have found a couple dogs we are willing to adopt but they're in like Illinois, Michigan or SC.

the OES Rescue Network of the South East covers your area, I believe. You may want to check out their website and/or Facebook page and submit an application.

Definitely start talking w/ the southeast rescue group and get an application filled out. This way when one comes available, they will contact you if you have met the criteria and the dog meets your criteria.

I know that there are also people like me who will drive a sheepie and help with transport from location to location....so, there are always options. But, I would start with speaking to the southeast team who will be able to direct you a bit more.

Sometimes there are dogs already in foster care that are not listed on websites because they are just not ready to be adopted or they are going through "approved" families first....

Good luck and thank you for coming here to start to ask questions! With patience, an OES will come your way before you know it!
Oh wow I didn't realize they did not post those who may be in foster homes. I will definitely talk to the southeast region.
Thanks for y'all's help :)

They are all in foster homes, what was meant is that the approved adopters get 1st chances with incoming dogs...so many dogs never make it to being posted on their web sites. When a dog comes in and it's a match with a new potential family, they go right to that step....and never need to be posted.

That's why it's best to get your app in, so they can do the reference and vet checks on you. That way when a dog is a match, you are at the top of the list. :D
Exactly what Dawn said!! :clappurple:
