Dogs are interesting

I love watching my dogs interact with each other. Each has her own personality. Violet is more the bossy clown. China is my nurse and Asia is my guard.

This morning I decided it was time to trim up Violet a bit, you know the "jewels" around her nose. (small matts from drinking water). Violet doesn't take to that all that well, but doesn't give me a hard time, I can do about anything to her and she never trys to bite me. My other dogs know her language and know not to tick her off. Anyway, I go to help Violet on to my bed. We've just added a 4" mattress pad, so makes it a little harder for Violet with the HD. So I say "up, up" which she unserstands and she stands right in front of the bed. So I have to wrap my arms around her chest and say "up up" and she will help me lift the front of her, I then wrap my arms around her just in front of her hips and say " up up" and lift her and she pulls with her front legs on to the bed. For those who don't know me, I'm 5' tall and Violet is tall she is 26" at the weithers. As we were getting the hind end up, she does this low grawl sound...which I take as a "thank you Mom". Now, Asia and China are not in the bedroom, but Asia is not far and I see her peek into the bedroom. So Violet lays down on the bed, real comfy like, so I circle around her and climb up on the bed myself. Violet is now watching me with distrust...she knows I'm up to something...so I start telling her what I'm going to be doing and she can just relax. As soon as the scissors came out she pulled her head up and looked at me....Asia jumped on the bed and layed not to far off. So I itched and petted Violet and started the trimming. Asia watched the whole thing from start to finish. Each time Violet pulled back, Asia was on alert. All went well and didn't take very long, but my guard dog was on the job. After all was done, both dogs jumped off the bed and came in the livingroom with me. :)

Sounds like Asia was keeping an eye out for hr sister while you did the trimming! Mine do that. I can clean one of their ears and the other will watch closely...if anyone makes the slightest whine or cry, the other comes runing over to help
