It's not ALL dog movie, but my favorite movie is:

Turner and Hooch.

I can't get enough of that farting dog!

Oh, and have you seen K-9 P.I. It's the Prt 2 (or 3??) of K-9 with Jim Belushi. Anyways, it was so funny and doggy-oriented. Here is the link to the movie. http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1808401841
Completely forgot about Turner and Hooch...LOVED it too, Hooch was hilarious.

Quote..."This is NOT your room"

Haven't seen the new K9 movie, maybe this weekend. While we camp in the rain.
Lol. I'd have to say Best in Show.

I can't watch Old Yeller/Where the Red Fern Grows stuff. Makes me cry too much! :(
More of my favorites (from most like to least)

The truth about Cats & Dogs

Lady and the Tramp

Beethoven 1, 2, 3, 4

All Dogs go to Heaven

Cats & Dogs (the movie where the cats are trying to take over the world from the dogs)

101 Dalmatians

Oh, and How can anyone not like the big white shaggy dog from DENNIS the Menace! Is it a sheepdog? It looks confused to what it is in the picture. ;)
ooooooooh, what's that movie called where Chevy Chase is reincarnated as a shaggy Benji????

I think it's called, Oh Heavenly Dog
I agree with Best in Show...hilarious
Hmmm so many to choose from.... I just watched Snow Dogs again last night..lol... so it sticks in my mind, but it is not my number one favorite.
I loved Disneys Aristocats, and Beethoven, Turner And Hooch, Snow Dogs, Peter Pan because of Nana, but I think my absolute favorite was Good Boy! I love that movie...
Homeward bound!! WOOHOO!
Hi,

When I was a kid it was Homeward Bound (first version) and later the other ones.

There's a really touching one I think it's called FLUTE about a dog who is reincarnated and befriends a young boy..think the dog was his dad who passed.

Beethoven,Shaggy DA, Shaggy Dog too of course!!

Lady and the Tramp, Fox and the Hound, and 101 Dalmations.

Marianne and the boys
My favorite dog and cat movie from when I was little was Milo and Otis. It is about a Pug and a little kitten who go on an adventure. Its really cute. Oh, Marianne, the movie about the dog who was reincarnated is called Fluke. :)
This is great, see when I was thinking of movies for the life of me I couldn't come up with much.

We just saw "Good Boy"...was hilarious, of course had a Boxer.
I even own a Beethoven movie, #2, I gave #1 to my uncles kids.

Of course Fox and the Hound..."we'll be best friends forever", oh man I cry every time.

There is a sheepie in Housesitter...Goildie Hawn gets a dog and lives in Steve Martin house pretending to married.

I am renting videos for the weekend for camping trip, we are expecting rain, so I am preparing for alot of inside time. This is perfect.
Hi favourite animal movie, is Digby the wonder dog. Just one cute sheepie.
luv pepe
Well, I had to get my kids opinion on this one, as I love all of the movies mentioned thus far.
Joey, my now 5 year old :D , said, Oliver and CO. It has dogs and cats, and the singing in the movie is really cool.

Ashlan, says, The Aristocats, which has already been mentioned, but it is also my all time favorite!!

If you want a classic, Tom and Jerry cartoons are now being sold as DVD's, however I forgot how violent they can be, so it depends on how you feel about those things.

Stormi and co.
I love all the movies mentioned... lol....
Another movie that has a brief 2 second appearance of a gorgeous oes is Welcome To Mooseport.
Fox and The Hound is my all time favorite, followed by Lady & The Tramp.
My husband's favorite is Homeward Bound
I loved all of the above--Homeward Bound and Digby being at the top of the list!! Not too long ago I talked my husband into going to the movie Winn Dixie--it was cute but not great. We were the only adults without children in the theater--oh well.

My daughter just told me yesterday that she had read that they were doing a remake of the Shaggy DA-- I can't remember everyone that she said was going to be in it--but "Charlotte" from Sex in the City is one of the main characters.
I've heard about the remake too.... Charlotte from S.A.T.C would be perfect...lol...
The Shaggy Dog remake is going to be using a Bearded Collie. Grrrr.
Tim Allen, Robert Downey Jr., Craig Kilborn Danny Glover and Kristin Davis are starring.

But, for movies with OES, don't forget about Labyrinth!! There's a great sheepdog in that one! They use a live dog and an animatronic Sheepdog, it's absolutely hysterical. Of course, you have to get past David Bowie in those pants!!!
Hi Again,

Thanks for the correction Maddie's girl...ahh the movie about the dad being reincarnated as a dog was called FLUKE. It's a great movie!

Funny too, as just after reading this post I switched on the tv and K9 with Jim Belushi was airing!

Marianne and the boys
What about "The Sandlot"? Have you guys ever seen that? I think the dog is a bullmastiff, but I'm not sure.
I'm looking for a movie starring a dog i've looked everywhere and I can't find it, mainly 'cause I can hardly remember anything about it except that I used to watch it when I was little... It's about a dog (I don't even know the breed) whose master dies and he sleeps everynight by his grave, and the people in town know the dog and some of them feed him or something like that... the thing is that by the end the dog is given the "key of the city" or somethign like that!!
I hope this little thing I remember rings a bell, and someone knows the movie i'm talking about.. if you do please e-mail me...
carito.rodriguez@gmail.com...
thanks!
What about "The Ugly Dachshund"?? Has anyone seen it? It's an old movie...60's I think. It's about a couple that have a Dachshund that had puppies and the vet convinces the husband to take home a newborn Great Dane that lost its mom so it can nurse off of the Dachshund. Anyway, the Great Dane grows up to think it IS a Dachshund. It's a great movie!! Very funny!
milo and Otis
Not my all-time favorite, but does anyone remember Hachi: A Dog’s Tale with Richard Gere? We saw it when vacationing with the kids and grandkids (no dogs allowed), and at the end of the movie I was in tears and just wanted to get home as soon as possible to shower our Gus dog with hugs and kisses!
Oh I cried at Hatchi...just recently saw that movie and based on a true story. You can see it on You Tube for those that are interested.

The other one that is similar and one an earlier poster commented on about the dog sleeping on his Masters Grave is not a movie but a book - Grey Friars Bobby. Based on a true story of a dog who continued to sleep nightly on his masters grave for the last 13 yrs of his life. People fed him and erected a statue in his honor. Same as Hatchi who visited the train stop of his Master for years after his death. He also has a statue.

I just recently saw a MSN photo which showed a dog laying on his mistress grave and refusing to live. This was in Brazil after mud slides sadly killed many people.

The other one based on a true story is Balto the dog who managed to make it through a snow storm and bring much needed medicine to the people of Ankorage (I might be wrong about the city but it was definately in Alaska). He too has a statue in his honor.

Lately I've become a fan of watching YouTube vids of a fellow named Eldad Hagar who has rescued dogs in horrendous situations. Each vid has you sitting on the edge of your seat and cheering at the happy ending when he finally captures the dog.

Lastly the rescue stories of Randy Grimm of St. Louis stray dog rescue always has me crying. He has two books out and you can check out the stories on his website. :lmt:

Marianne
I thought Bolt was hilarious. Also: Best in Show, Iron Will, White Fang, and My Dog Skip.
They make me cry, but mine are Ole Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows....
