Sheepie reviews Sedona AZ -- a dog-friendly town

My name is Mats. I am a 2 1/2 year old Old English Sheepdog.
I adopted my people, Jean and Larry, about 8 months ago.

My people took me to Sedona AZ at the end of October. They told me Sedona was dog friendly. It was a really long drive from San Jose, CA.. We stayed at the Red Rock Inn and our space had 2 stories. I got to practice stairs a lot and I’m really good at stairs now. Bogie, sheltie, and Walker, labradoodle, were also at the Red Rock Inn and we became friends. We played in the parking lot and explored shrubbery together – we’re all males and you know what “explore” means. There were many good places to go for walks. I think I had 4 walks each day.

We arrived on Saturday night for a VIP greeting at Los Abrigados. I met many people in the hotel. Then, we went to the Red Rock Inn.

Our first morning, Sunday, we went to Desert Flour Bakery. I sat under the table while my people had breakfast. I met 2 greyhounds. That afternoon, we went to an art fair where I met some kids, a golden, and the Australian shepherd Ziggy.

On Monday, we dropped in at the Red Rock Veterinary CIinic to ask about a dog sitter. I met Artemis, a nice doggie who was there for an ear infection. Both office staff people (they really liked me and rumpled my head) take doggies overnight. Then, we went to a classy shopping place, Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh) and went to the Secret Garden for Lunch. We had a shady spot and I got my own water bowl.

Tuesday, we went on a wilderness jeep ride – it was scary and exciting, but then I learned how to balance and it was fun. We went back to Tlaquepaque where I was invited into stores – cool. I met a little white fuzzy dog who came right up to me, a husky, a little black dog, and a lab. I met many little people, some so young I call them people puppies. I discovered I really like shopping – Jean goes inside while Larry and I explore outside and meet people.

On Wednesday, we went to Prescott to visit somebody Larry used to work with. I was very good. After we came back to Sedona, I went home with the vet folk. I had a good time and I got a really good report card on my behavior at an overnight with St Bernards and horses.

On Thursday, we went gallery hopping after I left the vet folk. I was allowed inside many galleries. I met a Schipperke in one and we had a good time. That evening we went to the Juniper Grill. I had my own water bowl. I met many people.

Friday, we visited some more galleries. For Lunch, my people ate at the Wildflower Bread Company. I took a nap under their table in the shade. For Friday dinner, we went to Ken's Creekside. I had my own menu and I chose the grilled chicken with Michael's dry mix and cold filtered water. Dinner was very, very good. Before dinner, I met two doggies who barked at me, but we all knew they were barking to come meet me so we had a doggy meet and greet. After dinner, I met a bulldog (he had the venison stew for dinner). Then we went back to our room and started packing for the long drive home.

Saturday, we took the long drive back home.

Sedona AZ is really dog-friendly.
